Season's greetings one and all. Ballywilliam Boy at Navan 1.10pm tomorrow 7/1 looks a tasty one for me each way. Ran well over track and trip last time. Ascot 1.50 Sully Doc AA 8/1 great course form i'd write off the Newbury run and bag a tasty price in an open race Ascot 3.35 Tritonic 14/1 arguably best ever performance was over C&D and surely a horse that was fancied to win a Triumph is value each-way at 14/1 Haydock 2.40 Acey Milan solid stayer 16/1 each way looks value to me. Hopefuly we can all bag a winner tomorrow for the Xmas kitty.
I suppose it is stating the obvious that Regal Encore should reward each-way backers in the 3.00 at Ascot. He has a phenomenal course record and is 3lbs lower than when a fine 3rd over C&D on seasonal debut. No doubt he will run a stinker now I've put this up In the Long Walk it will be interesting to see whether Thyme Hill left his season in the Auteuil mud at the beginning of November - hopefully not and he can run to his true form. At current prices though I think Ronald Pump is much better value - he again got closest to Honeysuckle in the Hatton's Grace and can take another big prize back to Ireland. In the graduation chase I'll be hoping to see a clear and safe round from Messire des Obeaux who remains a chaser of potential and is hopefully over his injury and, as mentioned above, I think West Cork will take plenty of beating off his revised mark of 141. Could very well be a graded horse and remains totally unexposed.
Worst looking Saturday for a bet in a while today. Most of the football has been postponed due to covid, college football is down to Bowl games and playoffs which is a complete lottery racing looks pretty ****e. That been said it is scoop 6 day so i've done the following in an ew lucky 63/acca: 1:50 Ascot - Golden Whiskey 12/1 (4 places) 2:05 Haydock - Mackelduff 10/3 (4 places) 2:25 Ascot - Ronald Pump 7/2 (4 places) 2:40 Haydock - Enqarde 9/1 (5 places) 3:00 Ascot - Belami Des Pictons 9/2 (4 places) 3:35 Ascot - West Cork 6/1 (5 places) All with Hills and all BOG as unlike the rest of the bookies they haven't yet taken away BOG on races where they are offering enhanced places.
Imphal runs in the first at Ascot and I can't work out how the handicapper has assessed him since his opening hurdles victory at Ludlow in October. He won that novices handicap hurdle off 99 and was raised just 1lb. He followed up 15 days later off his revised mark of 100 at Fontwell and this time the assessor took a harsher view and raised him 3lbs. Off 103 he won again at Huntingdon and he tried to follow up 6 days later with a 7lbs penalty but finished a never-nearer 3rd under a 10lbs claimer. Anyway he goes off 111 today and that could still be workable, given that 3 miles seems to have brought about significant improvement in him. We'll see.
My arrows today in an ew Lucky 15. 2.25 Ascot (Bob) Paisley Park 2.40 Haydock (Big) Sams Adventure 3.00 Ascot (Peter) Checkitout 3.35 Ascot (No more football analogies) Tritonic Have a good day all, all the best with yours
For my weekend punt, and without further ado, will try an e/w Patent. All have pretty decent chances in their chosen events, but, let's be honest, "carry on dreaming SwanHills!" 14:25 Ascot - Ronald Pump 15:00 Ascot - Belami Des Pictons 15:35 Ascot - Tritonic NAP! Enjoy the racing!
Thanks, Karlos, I should have added the best prices available at time of writing, which were: Ronald Pump - 9/2 Belami Des Pictons - 11/2 Tritonic - 8/1
I would love to be as optimistic as you but... last night 12/1, today 16-18/1. That's why I played e/w SP. Won this race last year.
After what he did in France I think TH has improved (which was not very difficult). I think he will fight for the victory in March.
