I do like a South American red myself. And with the Aussie stuff, i really like the 19 crimes stuff. 'Uprising' in particular, which is part aged in rum barrels is very nice. Might be a bit too budget for some on here. Around £8-£10 a bottle.
Wait until some twat comes and builds a eco-glass clad twat house in front of your view, they'll probably also have hens as that will make them 'self-sufficient'!! I jest (in most part), but there is a massive issue in many locations about building on green fields and the ****e planning authorities in the UK not doing their jobs. Our village has doubled nearly in size in 5 years, thankfully they've kept the development at the other side of the village, but it has been awful for many in that location. We have managed to get a couple of applications in our location denied because of my miserable input into the planners!! Apparently they don't like the public doing their job for them!! But then use the exact same outputs in their rationale!!
There is major developments planned in the area but they are near main artery routes near infurstructure. We have no amenities nearby no shops buses or pubs, so little appeal for developers. I can’t predict the future unfortunately but for now it’s heaven.
No amenities? Well thats perfect for development then, they can suggest spending the 106 money on improving those to get them passed.
It seems so long ago. Me and mrs Florida were in biarittz just before covid drinking Sancerre premier cru at 6euros a glass every night.
Not many things annoy me over the Christmas period but one thing that most deffo does is people who call today (23 December) Christmas Eve Eve. It's not so much the title, that makes my blood boil, but the fact that these types that say 'Christmas Eve Eve' think they are so witty and oh so original. You. Are. Neither.
Never heard that said before, but if I had would agree 100% with you. They think they're being original and funny, but are neither; they are just gormless idiots. Really, at this time of the year, their website contributions should be trashed/deleted!
Returning to the subject of wines, in my post #11316 of Dec.12th I mentioned the red Merlot wines. Well, I decided to try a couple of bottles of the following Spanish Merlot which arrived yesterday, free delivery for Amazon Prime subscribers: 2019 Osborne Solaz Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon Semi-Dry, from the Castilla La Mancha area of Spain. Fruity red wine with "remarkable berry aromas and notes of chocolate!** Opened a bottle this evening and tried it. Quite excellent and at € 4.99 a bottle, pretty reasonable. Very well packed indeed, and, although a day late, DHL Express did an otherwise good job in getting it to us before Christmas. **Agree with the description too! Think I'll order a full carton of four in the New Year, and more later if all goes well! Viva España!
With all that has happened with the royal family over the last 30 years one has to declare: WTF???? Old boy Freud would have a field day.
This made me laugh... Good ole censorship at its best... China changes Fight Club film ending so the authorities win I watched this film over Xmas just as something to watch as it caught my eye, and i hadnt seen it like for ages. Just imagine if they changed the ending to every film with anything slightly controversial or political leanings...!!
Why do the Americans have to invent new, totally moronic expressions for weather. The US East coast is experiencing heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions but that description is far too boring. So they came up with …………. “Bombogenesis”
It seems that this term has been around for a while Oddy... Explosive cyclogenesis It is very American as you say though...
Vagus Nerve damage is possible cause of Long Covid Virus problems. Not a cheerful subject but I found this article to be very interesting and quite possibly hits the target on the cause of Long Covid.sickness, which affects so many people. A big well-done to the physicians at the University of Barcelona who have studied this illness. I really think they have come-up with a very plausible explanation. At last some sense from a hitherto 'blunderbuss approach' by many so-called experts on this grim Pandemic virus side-effect, often aided and abetted by politicians who know less-than-zilch about serious illnesses. Long Covid: Changes in the vagus nerve may indicate illness (t-online.de) (Hope it can be read in the English language, even though the Google translation can be a bit odd (to put it mildly) most of the time. Translations the other way round, from English to German, are pretty 'astounding' too!)
