    Hello, people.

Really, really nice card at Warwick, tomorrow, and the pair that I have backed are GERICAULT ROQUE (3.00) and RIGGS (3.35).

Fell a bit in love with the former at Newbury last time. You had to admire the way that he fought and battled up the home straight. Just went down that day but I think he will win this time.

The latter looks standout in the Pertemps Qualifier off 132. It's not usually my policy to bet in these races (more plots than an Agatha Christie novel contained within) but off this perch he would appear to be very hard to beat. Especially when I'd wager that those at the top of the handicap will be looking merely to sneak into the final qualifying berths. They will hardly want to win this and get their already huge marks inflated further in the Final.

Not backing in the card commencer or the lucky last but the 12.40 must be of interest as it contains Sprinter Sacre's brother and animals who were once owned by The Queen and forum Royalty himself, Mr Ponsonby! Meanwhile, the 4.05 looks hugely intriguing and one to watch with the old notebook. Lieutenant Henderson unleashes a daughter of Earth Amber (the old girl was Listed placed for him on Flat). Blow Your Wad's dam is a half-sister to Faugheen. Midnightinbresil's dam is a half-sister to my old fave, Cocktails At Dawn. And the Murphy and George runners cost a few quid as well! Only 7 runners but this promises to a corking contest, team.

    Good luck all.

CALL ME LORD returns back to hurdles. His 2 bad runs over fences have resulted in his handicap mark over hurdles dropping to 144. At the price it’s just far too big to ignore, especially going right handed. He has previously won the International Hurdle at Cheltenham. James Bowen gets the ride. 28/1 PP

The ITV website editor has fallen victim to predictive text:

    upload_2022-1-15_8-36-17.png

Poor turnout for a Grade 2 chase (especially when there is prize money down to 6th place) - in fact poor turnout in general at Kempton with the exception of the Lanzarote - where the mare On My Command should give a good account off bottom weight with plenty of good in the going description.

The Leamington Hurdle has a number of very interesting contenders - Party Business was running a massive race in the Challow when falling 2 out; Stag Horn was rated 108 on the flat and made a very nice hurdles debut at Hereford (runner up subsequently won); Surrey Quest has looked very smart in 2 hurdles victories to date; Viva Lavilla finished 2nd to Lossiemouth in a Grade 2 and should have more to offer.

I hope Stag Horn can take this as it would be nice to see connections rewarded for sending a good flat horse over obstacles.

Not a fan of that horse at all, so it’ll probably hack up.

I was looking forward to the Pertemps Qualifier, but it’s such a messy race in which there seems to be very little pace. I might have a dabble in play, depending on who takes them along.

I like Kalelulalalalalalalala or whatever it’s called of Fergals in the bumper. Interesting Liam goes up to Wetherby whilst Jonjo picks up a ride for Fergal at Kempton and Connor rides for Nicky Henderson but not Fergal at Kempton. Then Paddy is at Warwick for the mercurial French cyclist.

I also like Grace A Vous Enki for Nicholls in the Classic Chase. He’s been a horse I’ve taken on over hurdles but a return to fences and a marathon test could be absolutely ideal.

If I were placing a bet it would be on Party Business - I actually fancied him for the Challow and I think he is a talented horse. But I'm not placing a bet.

My beloved Head To The Stars (mercurial horse, hahahahaha) runs again today (Warwick 15,00). LTO I put him here and won 9/1, surely it's his turn to PU. He up in class (from a class 3 to a Grade 3) and trip (from 3m to 3m 5f). I have a small e/w bet but I don't advise betting him, I only do it for sentimental reasons. He is the outsider of the lot and 50/1 clearly indicates his theoretical chances.

    Kempton
14,40 Cobblers Dream 14/1 e/w five places Lads and Coral, sky 12/1 seven places, WH 12/1 six places

    15:15 Kempton - Kitty's Light

(The Nathaniel gelding has bright chance in this 3m Chase with conditions to suit. Top conditional, Jack Tudor, on board for the Christian Williams yard. 9/2 best price at time of writing, freely-available).

Enjoy the racing everyone, and good luck if you have a wager! :emoticon-0167-beer:

Good work Pilgrim. Vastly underrated tipster on here, hardly a time I pop in and you don't have a winner at decent odds up. Well done.

That's another 6 qualified for the final - although I suspect the McManus pair will be headed elsewhere.

Alaphilippe and The Jam Man took the eye.

Disagree, I don't think Pilgrim is underrated at all. Very well respected, in fact.

5 winners from 13 runners for Lieutenant Henderson today - excellent performance and very tasty SPs too - 7/1, 15/8, 9/2, 11/2 and 7/2

Add in Mengli Khan 2nd at 22/1 and Call Me Lord 3rd at 33/1 <applause>
