The easiest thing in the world to do is manage your money badly. God knows how Derby have managed to do it quite so badly though. Shame for their fans as they are a decent lot. It's about time individuals and not clubs/fans were punished for financial irregularities

18 points adrift at this stage and without the points deductions they'd be averaging about a point a game and sitting 5th bottom. Will take some sort of mighty Keano2007-esque run to get them 4th bottom by May.

Its all over for them I reckon....no way back after this. What it does mean it super important for our club to get out of the division this season, as next year, League 1 will look vert strong with Derby coming down and potentially Barnsley, Peterborough or Cardiff as well.

After last night's defeat at home to QPR I'd say that's the end for Derby.

They're in a bigger mess than even Sunderland were and it highlights, again, the way football has been misgoverned.

Fair play to the 20,000 supporters who turned up on a cold night to watch their club take another kick in the face.

Sunderland were so lucky, that KLD arrived from nowhere, and we should thank our lucky stars imo.

Whilst I am not a big DC fan, they are a great historic club who have been sold down the river by the FA and their previous owners. As you say there for the grace of God goes us!

The situation for Derby has got worse. Another transfer embargo imposed. They have been unable to appoint a preferred buyer because of claims against the club which I assume are compensation claims from Boro (£45m) and Wycombe. Some argue these claims cannot proceed as it is not lawful to make claims against entities in administration. The government are being asked to intervene. Who is on the EFL board? Boro owner and Forest owner are on it.

The transfer embargo meant Jagielkas short term contract couldnt be renewed. Rooney has said he has no say over who leaves or their value the administrator does it all. Their main midfielder Shinnie is off to Wigan. Two of their best young players are off for a couple of hundred grand. Others will be gone as well. Some clubs lodged a complaint against Derby because they rejected bids fot their players, paltry bids no doubt. Meanwhile on the pitch they are performing miracles and threatening to beat the drop, despite a 21 point deduction. Of course that is until the next points deduction is dreamt up by the EFL.

I live in the area so this is close to home. I have been here over 30 years. I see what it is doing to the fans. Both my lads are supporters and the eldest is a season ticket holder. What is happening to Derby is nothing to do with football. The previous owner is guilty but the fans arent. There is a real risk the club could go and in my opinion the EFL need to start helping not hindering. The damage it would do to the area is frightening, economically and otherwise. Derby deserve better and so does all of football. The way the game is going I dont see it being viable at all in 10 years. Sad times.

I really feel for the fans, my mate lives in Derby so chat to him quite a bit on the subject.

The owner really does need to take the majority of the blame. Rules were broken but it’s just highlighting the double standards in football, some clubs are punished way more than others.

It is shocking the way Derby are being handled.....It looks from the outside like the EFL...FA and HMCR have decided to make an example of one club...seems Derby are that club

The whole football pyramid needs looking at, too many decisions seem to be made on the back of a fag packet.

Derby made an example of for breaching the rules yet when the biggest clubs in England threaten to leave to join an new league then get a slap on the wrist. Different governing bodies but it has repercussions throughout the English leagues.

Football is so corrupt now. I mean Peter Ridsdale is now one of the main people responsible for overseeing Financial Fair Play in the EFL…it’s a joke.

I think that is it mate. But I think they are applying the rules wrong. They seem hell bent on making sure Derby suffer the most extreme punishment. Imagine imposing a transfer embargo just before you renew short term contracts. It stinks really.

The only shining light for Derby is Ashley wants them. I hope he gets them and then goes after the EFL with everything. Ashley will not only sort Derby but he might just expose the EFL and their rule book for what it is.

This all day long, all those clubs threatened to **** off and make their own league it was quickly forgotten about as the Premier League was relieved they changed their minds!

Only reason they changed their minds is the fan uproar, one of those chairman said in meetings about it they don't need the fans. Greedy bastards will be back again with the let's share the money out so we get more rule change again, that was only rejected in a vot a few months before they said they were leaving.

There would be a lot of fans with big smiles on their faces if they pissed off than there would be if they stayed.

Whilst I feel due Derby and their fans, should we not be looking to take advantage of the situation if possible?

Shinnie would be one I would take but looks like Wigan have got him. Quality centre midfielder who wins the ball and can go box to box. Knight in midfield is quality but rumour is he is away for a few million to Leeds or out nearest and dearest. If it happens would stop the firesale.

I would love Derby to stay up, it would be a huge kick in the teeth for the elf, they would get loads of new fans the more they keep winning <ok>

Their FFP breaches were in a season when Derby beat them to the play offs by a point. Gibson claims loss of revenue as a result. Absolute nonsense claim and no chance he gets anywhere near if anything.
