Just thinking once some of the Prem managers start getting the sack how long do you think it will be before our Nigel gets gets linked or enquired about? I think with the backing we have he would have to be mad to go to the prem with some of the smaller sides than wait and go up with us (hopefully this season if not as soon as) because the bigger prem sides will probably go for a bigger name. What do you lot think?
The likes of Carlo Ancelotti,Martin Oneil,Mark Hughes will be looked at first hopefully our Nigel will remain under the radar...
Does he own a house in Southampton? I would move quickly to give him the Freedom of the City, a flat in Ocean Village and a house in Chilworth.
I think the only club that Nigel would jump at is Liverpool and I can't see them ever going for a manager who hasn't won things at highest level/been in Europe. The second/third level clubs such as Villa, Everton, Newcastle, Sunderland etc, all have a lot of baggage and I don't think they'd give him the freedom he has now. The rest of the clubs are probably smaller than Saints and either on their way down or at best treading water. Nigel would gain nothing by going to a Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan, Wolves, Fulham etc.
This is exactly my thoughts,unless one of the top clubs come in for him then there is nothing any other club can offer him that we can't.He has everything he needs here,in my opinion.Remember Cortese has massive ambitions for this club and Nigel knows that.

Look at the nonsense happening with Sven and LFC. If Nige was ever tempted by vast amounts of wonga some clubs may wave he'll still pass methinks, far too intelligent.
Sadly Nigel doesn't have a house in Southampton..nothing sinister in that..his family are settled oop north (well north of here anyway). Can't see him leaving whilst he is enjoying life. Only a very big club would tempt him and, luckily, such clubs are too snobby to take an Englishman.
I think he will deffo be in the papers.. You know how media love to try and unsettle managers... But Adkins has a good Mind about him.. he won't get phased about it.. And He wouldn't leave us..
If the papers do try to unsettle our bus driver, we should start a `love in` at SMS and camp outside.
I felt at the end of last season that it was important that the ambition of Saints and Nigel went hand in hand. Nigel will only leave or be let go if he outgrows Saints or Saints outgrow him. If we get promoted we must continue to improve and become a force to be reckoned with. Saints and Nigel are a match made in heaven..long may it continue.
