Dunno - I haven't followed the Cup that closely. The grass is long and it looks like it's been sanded - they keep catching their blades in it and their feet stop. And the ball thinks it's on a trampoline. Quality of the game is poor, mostly due to the pitch imo.
Must be the same one. Deffo say sandy stuff fly up when the keeper caught his knee in pitch that I saw
That's true for Britain which was a pioneer of Omicron... It's still going worldwide though... Our numbers here are staying high and still inching up. Still, Britain is what matters for Premier League bit over half the players are foreign and a good deal of them disappear for internationals now and then... Omicron could continue to be a thorn in Premier League even after the peak subsides in Britain.
its one of those where really the thing is that infections that it seems to have plateaued hereat a much higher rate than delta was. 90k cases per day, compared to 30k before it emerged and 170k per day as a peak in the spike of the wave here.. At this point one could only assume that cases being cases and not infections that the "majority" (whatever that might be) of the population of the uk have had some form of covid now at lest once. whether that's 30mil or 40mil who knows. the case rate is 16mil. in the end its about 1% of the population per week who are detected as cases in last 7 days so over last 7/8 weeks we could say 8x1.5 (add in the wave was much higher) x2 (double case rate) = 24% of population have had omnicron? maybe 30%. who knows. I don't think the US have had as strong a run of omicron as Europe in general? I'd reckon at this point due to having 66% boosted and all of that the UK has got to the point where we are seeing this variant being the one that's moves this prom pandemic to endemic and only the next flu season will tell if we have a head and throat coronavirus that gives us a headache and not much else or if it comes back with a vengeance. my prediction is the minute there's a little bit of sun on our backs here (march) nobody will want to hear about it and we will act like it never happened. Think of the poor shops that bought in oodles of masks that are now worse than useless and are still on the water from china. the amount of cloth masks etc that are going to be dump is going to be horrendous.... and come October next there could be a massive spike again.
I think Beckham would be even better in modern day football setups. Man Utd and England played 442 back then and DB was usually stuck on the right. With a lot of top teams playing 433 (or a variation that includes three CMs), DB would probably play more centrally at RCM. IMO, he'd have been awesome here, especially with his very high energy levels and work ethic.
Bailly - who had a surprisingly good game for IC - goes and loses it at the death with an average penalty. Felt a bit sorry for him, tbh.
Doesnt make huge difference. Final is 6th. Our next prem game is 10th so even if makes that, could in theory come back for Leicester but realistically will just be the 1 more match he misses (doubt would play in the Cardiff game anyway)
Ah well. No injury and the next round they'll get hammered. They were way off the pace in this game and the rubbish pitch helped them out.
Morocco next up As I said Egypt massive underdogs again. Another Englandesque performance and pens required I suppose.
