January Transfer Window Rumours

Cards being kept very close to chests as not a whisper from any journalists on JD but the clock is ticking down now so expect something will break soon. If not JD we need another striker and pretty sure someone will come in. I can't believe we would sign 2 wide players but not a striker.

 

This is what we thought when we first came down to here.

I still think Defoe will sign for us.

It just makes sense for everyone.

 

Not for me like. He’d not cover Stewart if he gets injured which is our biggest risk. His finishing and movement would always add something but it’s probable that he’d not be able to graft at the required level for 95 minutes and maintain our pressing game so we’d then need another striker or rely on O Brien.

 

I think every makes sense, including the perceived delay. As a free agent, you'd be mad not to hang on for a better deal higher up. Emotions are clouding a very normal transfer chase. It's clear he'd come otherwise you'd like we'd have been made aware. It reminds me of the Hume saga in the summer. There's what we can offer, go talk to other teams and come back to us. Also, were in no rush either, Defoe would be an addition to our business, he wouldn't bloke us getting another striker in , in my opinion.

 

He scores goals, and goals win matches, it is as simple as that

You cant replicate the intensity of a match, in training. You can be as fit as a fiddle but the only way you will get match fit is by playing regularly.

 

I do believe Defoe is going to be and added extra to what was already planned. The way the club has been set up is about building for the future, taking Defoe till the end of the season doesn't fit in with that so they will carry on the recruitment as planned and Defoe is an added bonus to basic increase our chance of promotion.

We are but I know they are happy with the progress of L09 and Winchester so they can offer support there. Would have to be right. In for another fullback.
