Stanley has a fair point. Boris is, and always has been, a populist; and he appreciates that, unlike Labour, most of the country is patriotic.

He was a climate sceptic until he got in Carrie’s knickers. Now he has been greenwashed by her. He went to COP26 and made the big speech about how Britain was going to go Net Zero by 2050 without any consideration of cost or consequence. By the next election Labour will be pledging to do it by 2049 and create 10 million well paid green jobs.

When the next climate change conference comes around and China and Russia do not commit to anything (again), will Saint Greta be on her way to Beijing or Moscow first to wag a finger?

Net Zero is not happening any time this century so it is time to get back to the standard position of ignoring the tree huggers.

<doh> Clearly reading is not a strong suit with you. I did not say that “20’s” is incorrect in every circumstance. I first told you that the context that it was being used in by you was a plural not a possessive. You are not using it in a “purely mathematical context” so you are still wrong. Get in your dinghy, paddle across to France and start practising your French verb conjugations. I know a French woman who might be prepared to teach you English – she has a degree in the subject and 25 years practise.

Downing Street parties: Confusion over Sue Gray report after Met police statement

Keir Starmer used to be the Director of Public Prosecutions when Blair and Brown were in power. He did not quite get around to investigating Jimmy Savile and he plea bargained terror suspects down to light sentences rather than prosecute them, resulting in Usman Khan being freed to commit the ‘London Bridge attack’. He was rewarded for his services with a knighthood. You would think that he must know something about the law, having held one of the top jobs in the country.

So today [Friday] he seems to have gone blind to the law again as he moaned to the BBC about the delay in publishing Sue Gray’s Report because the Met Police have raised some legal issues with it being released. He even illustrated a total lack of understanding of how government works by claiming that the whole of government is ‘paralysed’ by the police investigation. Strangely enough in just a few seconds searching I can find lots of things that the “whole of government” is doing today and has been doing for weeks while Starmer has been trawling the tabloids for tit-bits to taunt Boris with at PMQs.

Wee Jimmy McKrankie was quick to grumble, not using the occasion at all to deflect away criticism of Scotland’s finances by an Institute of Fiscal Studies’ report that suggests that an independent Scotland would struggle, illustrated by it running up a deficit of 23.5 per cent of GDP during the pandemic, which will still be 7.5 per cent of GDP in four years time.

If Scotland becomes independent they will also become bankrupt - another Venezuela - with Scots fleeing to England.

So you are backing on your original position then? Typical crazed Rightie logic. Make a statement and, when it gets challenged move your ground. Just accept the fact that you lost and stop your childish beelin.

A Brexiteeer. Usual rules of Grammer and Punctureation do not apply. Note he only mentions reading. Writing is eggsempt. Now I note that he thinks that his original reply was to me, it wasn't of course. But crazed Righties don't even notice. As I said 0.25 of a wit.

I remember a few months ago he said that there would be no Covid this year. I made the point that his statement meant there would be no Covid for the whole year, he replied and said that it meant there could be some but not for the whole year. I pointed out that it would only be true if he had said there would be Covid this year. I gave up replying to his stupidity after that.

Or perhaps, 'practicing'? There lies the danger in trying to correct spelling. :emoticon-0105-wink:

    PS, If I've made one, don't bother. I really couldn't give a ****. <cheers>
