Purely on price tbh. I’d rather have the rest of the field running for me at odds against, than her at 4/7

How come you don't like a plus tard, but Galvin is your nap? Was only a short head between them last time.

Hi, Hawkeye. It's a little bit of my 'tongue in cheek.'
I've liked Galvin for a long time for the Gold Cup-he's a thoroughly genuine and improving, strong stayer taking on an overrated 'old brigade' of horses.
When he beat A Plus Tard, the pace was slow and he was gone and buried three out, with Davy Russell resorting to the whip. Yet he stayed on like a trooper to catch A Plus Tard.
How on earth can you fancy him not to repeat it in a fast run Gold Cup with the Cheltenham hill to come?
Yes, it's a very open Gold Cup but, if Galvin is with them at the last, it's 'goodnight' in my opinion.
Yes, A Plus Tard obviously has a good chance, but I'm more frightened of Protektorat.

    Hi Nass, Howya doin?
I just have a feeling he can go well against mostly exposed run of the mill horses.

All good thanks, planning for next week!

For me he is the oddest price of the week, his form just doesn’t stack up and that win over Native River is a massive unknown.

He is obviously a decent horse but I can’t believe he’s so short for a Gold Cup with the form in the book. Probably shows that it’s not a vintage field once more.

Having had a decent look through the Tuesday card this morning I like Lost in Translation ew in the Ultima at 16s more than Kiltealy Briggs now. Indecision rules <doh>

On the form book, the best value each way bet of the week has to be Conflated in the Ryanair at 7/1. I took 10/1 NRNB and, unless his last win was a flash in the pan, he certainly doesn’t need much more to frighten Allaho, having decisively beaten a horse rated a pound higher than the latter off 175, Minella Indo.

Must say, team, I'm sensing a lot of negativity, on the thread, re Edwardstone. Really can't understand this. Lot of 'lay' mentions.

Is this because of the 0/86 stat hanging over old boy, Alan King??? Because you think there is something exceptional amongst the other entries??? Or because you just don't rate Edwardstone???

My own view is that the 8YO son of Kayf Tara should be odds-on having looked a really, really top class recruit to the big 'uns. Loved the way he has jumped, travelled and then quickened in his last 3 races - quality affairs as well as these have been a Grade 1 and a pair of Grade 2's. Plus the yard know how to win the 'Meghan Markle' having had 2 previous victories in the contest.

Furthermore, I just don't rate the opposition that Edwardstone faces that highly. Earlier in the term the Arkle looked a really classy contest but key withdrawals (most notably, in my view, Appreciate It and Ferny Hollow) have reduced the quality enormously, I think.

Really don't think Edwardstone, 'The Wiltshire Warrior', will get beat on Tuesday.

I’m still annoyed at the turners result, got the horse beaten and then lack of other opposition gave it the win. That race sums up my festival betting in general
