There will always be the war between Arsenal fans & United fans, in 60 years time when not606 closes down and my grandchildren are on "Always606" ( New 606 site ), They will WUM the United board to death, Visa-versa.

    Never!!

We will fight you on the beaches............well we wont but we will shake our fists at you in a menacing manner.

The rivalry will only die when one team stops existing

Sorry, which United are you talking about? There are dozens of clubs with that word in their name, please be more specific.

Theres only one United when people use the word United.

You know which one it is, Manchester United.

I think he's talking about Galway United. They've had some big financial problems recently, and WUMming them just isn't fair!

I don't "know" as there is no possible way of knowing.

It's like saying "let's end the way between Arsenal and Football Club". "Football Club" could refer to any number of clubs with that in their name. "United" has no bias towards any one club and is lazy, ambiguous and nonsensical. It isn't even in context, so I don't see why you are assuming it is Manchester. Probably because you support them, I'm guessing from the 'Red' bit in your monicker. The OP should be clearer if he wants other users to understand the meaning of this thread.

No its pretty clear cut who an Arsenal fan would be talking about where using the term 'United'

For one we are perhaps their biggest or at least one of the biggest rivals they have. Biggest in terms of club size and overall rivalry on the field. Also the fact that anyone who has been paying any attention to Manchester United or Arsenal over the years will be aware of the great battles of the two teams.

So? There have also been battles with Newcastle, West Ham and Leeds during the past decade alone. That aside I can't comprehend why you wouldn't just say which United it was and have it over with. It makes it far clearer for people like me who don't make prejudiced, unfounded decisions from ambiguous statements like in the OP. There are many Uniteds, just as there are many Citys, Roverses and Athletics. Unless the context is explicitly stated, it's far easier just to say the full name of the club, or at least a nickname to help distinguish.

The one that's closest to Arsenal in the table.
The one that comes up on the first page of Google when you search for United.
The one that's won more English trophies than any other club.
The one with 330 million global fans.
Not the one that's in 6th place in the Championship.

    That make it clearer?

I note you don't refer to the various clubs with Arsenal in their name. Berekum Arsenal, Arsenal Football Club in Maseru, FC Arsenal Kyiv, and Arsenal_de_Sarandí to name just a few. Or is that because your bitterness only extends to Manchester United, and not to Woolwich Arsenal?
