Match Day Thread Saturday 30th April 2022. Southampton v Crystal Palace. 3 p.m. KO. St. Marys Stadium.

It is a bit of a pain but some 65 years or more since my first visit to the Dell I'm not surprised or alarmed.

 

Just reading that a punter had a 60p accumulator which returned him almost £158000. One of the results he predicted was a Palace win. Nice little earner.

 

And Everton have been in the top flight since 1954 so they couldn’t possibly be relegated?

Just cos stuff is rare doesn’t mean it can never happen, it’s just unlikely

As previously mentioned, couldn’t get to game this week, nor seen any clips / analysis apart from on here. Just listened to TSP.. of course they’re really only fans like us but have a bit more insight / connections. They’re a sound bunch; provide Criticism but constructive.They were pretty slating of team selection (with a few caveats), tactics, substitutions, a lot of players. A few sound bites;
Insipid / Ralph has run out of ideas and/or players weren’t listening / Are not listening/ cant get thro / can’t be bothered / Completely broken down / RH speaks of mentality/ coaching issues / Long / Redmond (& finishing as 9)!. I appreciated their honesty. Well worth a listen.

 

We're not going down is more likely. With rare exceptions this season is like any other in the PL for us, moments of brilliance more than matched by abject performances with both being displayed in many of our matches to create the hope and resilience you need to be a true Saints fan. We know how to do disappointment as well as celebrate more than most teams fans.
