He said it himself that while hes here every game is a big game and i think the players have bought in to that. He has instilled a good mentality in to them in the short time he has been here.
Totally get where you’re coming from and that was my initial thought but I just think Doyle makes us vulnerable to balls over the top because of his lack of pace. I think adding Matete to the 11 would make us stronger than adding Doyle. It not much of a compliment to Doyle I know but if I knew Doyle was playing I’d be saying ‘knock it behind him and run’.
Yeah fair point, was think of the height wise at the back post but with berahino in the team long balls over the top to run on to could be there game plan. I'd be surprised to see both clarke and roberts in the team tomorrow because i think he will be looking to stiffen the back up
Had a thought this morning about line ups etc and we could potentially bring in Matete, Embo, Mcgeady, Doyle and Broadhead without it actually weakening our starting 11 where as I don't believe Wednesday have that much strength in depth? Unless someone with a better knowledge of Wednesday's squad can tell me otherwise, they are pretty much relying in the same players we out fought, out thought and kept quiet Friday
For a penultimate time, many thanks RTB. I am confident we will do this one way or another.. All I ask is that if it is not meant to be , please just make it a simple 0-4 drubbing by the hour mark, and please not a 93rd min equaliser then 124th minute winner.
well said mate i still hurt from the Charlton fiasco , had a lump in my throat after that final like i was giving Linford Christie a BJ , never want an experience like that again. Oh and i burnt my gold away top, unlucky effing rag.
Quick question Marra , does anyone else have a problem viewing your posts? Here's what I see Don't know if it's my system , but it does my head in.
Alex Neil's press conferences get better every time. I reckon he seriously gets what this club is about and is not intimidated by the size of it nor of "the expectations" like some other managers we've had in this league. I've no doubt he's already decided the team and tactics for Monday night and has a plan b ready "just in case".
I think this could be a nerve jangling high scoring game, and we’ll come out 2-3 winners in added time!! Bring it on!!! FTM Bart
Said this before but I bloody hope the club are ready to or already have spoken to Neil about a proper long term contract, no matter what happens with the playoffs. He seems a perfect fit for us.
That’s not Vulcan . It’s the 6 pint beer scribble version for those who may be looking at it after a session. Thanks the other lads for the “I understand his words” type of comments - usually people look at me and say “I haven’t the foggiest what you’re going on about “!
I feel far less like I’m gonna have a massive heart attack when people come at us under Neil. That alone might get us over the line. The defence look like they have the first clue.
The longer we hold out the more risks they’ll take the more likely we’ll score on the break. Our newly established sturdy defence will have a massive role to play.
