Weather the inevitable storm and keep things tight is key. Once they have to start taking chances we can hit them on the break. A night for calm heads and total commitment to the cause
Who gets the first goal is vital. If it's us, then I think we'll go on and win comfortably scoring at least 3. If it's them, then it will be a very nervous game, but I'd hope we could pull it back to level. I think the important thing will be to get the balance right. Don't sit too deep and try to defend all game for a nil nil result, but also don't be too reckless trying to push to get the first goal.
Of course we can get through tonight for Wycombe at Wembley. Winning 1-0 at SoL is an advantage but not a big one. They are at home which helps them. I cannot see it 0-0, but maybes they score one and so do we. So its very tight... whatever god or gods you have or lucky rabbits foot etc get praying and rubbing.
This will be a test of discipline as much as football. I dont want to see any of our players diving in recklessly. Scowler was lucky not to be sent off last night and I am sure with the refs at present setting their own rules, we would not be so lucky. The Grapplers only got through to the final via a dubious sending off in the first leg, as MKD tried to match WW's chicanery, and we don't want that to happen to us when we get to the final. So keep our discipline and play football is all we can realistically ask for tonight. OaU.
The Ozzy lad in their midfield can’t remember his name looks like a sending off waiting to happen mind
Luongo, good player at this level. Cahill ****housery without Cahill's skill. More like a kevin Muscat type player
Sheff Wed know their defence is suspect and they'll be frightened of that long ball up to Stewart that caught them out for the goal and late on when he should've scored. I don't see the onslaught happening tbh, we have out balls now that they'll be wary of. Clarke/Roberts. Both sides will have good spells, during the game and it's just a question of who makes it count.
Steamed into a tackle straight after a yellow the other night which was a massive gamble. Get him a yellow early which doesn’t look hard and he’ll be gone.
He does spring to mind, but all our players are at risk imo. Its can be the unexpected who are most vulnerable, J.McE for instance was not the first name you would come up with at MKD's., and we have had McGeady of all people, this taking an early bath recently.
Was he the one that cleaned Clarke out from behind in the breakaway for our goal in the first leg, it is clearly seen on the highlights, and if the ref saw it,(not much chance), it should have been a straight red.
Ha,wwwwwwaaaaayyyyyy me bonnie lad's keep it tight as a fisher's bum hole, can't make me mind up to go 1-3 or 1-2. get stuck into them, good luck and f.t.m.
Thats my worry (sitting deep) as soon as Pritchard went off on Friday we dropped back a mile and gave them the come on. We need to play the game in their half if we can, especially towards full time. I'm sure AN has the plan, let's hope they stick to it. HTL
Not sure, but my guess would be on the bench, and only played if absolutely necessary, keeping him for the final. I was surprised at the energy levels of Ross Stewart in the first leg and he may be asked to play again as a lone striker with mid field support down both flanks.
