Very weird that none of the highlights showed our 2 shots on target. I still don't see how they played on after this
Even in the ground it looked out. One of the things I have noticed recently though is our players dont play to the whistle, maybe I am only just noticing it? When they had that good headed chance Evans turned with his arm up for offside before trying to close the cross, which he was then a fraction too late for as a result. O'Nien was at it as well. Annoys me and can be costly. I share the frustration of crap officials in this league, but you cant ref the game for them. On a side note I thought the ref was decent yesterday overall, let the tackles go in the main so fair play.
I've seen nothing of him to suggest he can play anywhere to be honest. Was stumped on who to stick in on the left -Dyce maybe? I've seen nothing of Embleton or Clarke to suggest they could play up top, but a lot of our players need a rest before we embark on the play off matches. That's the point. If Morecambe is a meaningless fixture, and given the results tonight it may not be, then we would be better resting those who have played a lot of games or recovering from knocks.
I doubt Morecambe will be a meaningless game because at the very least there will be home advantage to play for (by finishing 3rd or4th where possible). I agree with resting some players, hut we need to be careful not to surrender the 3 pts
Whilst we are all rightly concentrating on the top six the bottom is just as tight with those teams playing some of the top six. Morecambe are in pole position to stay up P44 Pts 42 Gillingham one below them P44 Pts 40 Fleetwood in the final relegation place. P43 Pts 39 Fleetwoods game in hand is home to Sheffield Wed on the same night we play Rotherham. Morecambe have the toughest fixtures MK away us at home Fleetwood are home to Wimbledon and away at Bolton to complete their fixtures. Gillingham face Rotherham at home on the last day, their other fixture is Portsmouth away. If we don't secure our top six place before going to Morecambe and they're fighting for they're lives it is going to be a nerve wracking final day as they have been on a decent run of results lately since they replaced their manager. Just hoping we get the job done at home in the next two games.
Good post mate and very true. I'd be happy to clinch our place at Morecambe but wouldn't want to send them down in the process ... ... having said that I'd totally expect us to win there if we had to.
He was getting a fair few goals for the 23's. If they wanted him out on loan, I'm surprised they didn't send him to somewhere higher up the pyramid. Incidentally, is Harris still out on loan?
