July is what’s being discussed at the moment. He offered the 11/6, but I’ve got a wedding to hobble to
You've not had the best of luck with injuries lately, Glennon. Swimming is a good way of keeping fit and doesn't cause any injuries. Well unless you drown. I'll tell you what, forget the swimming
The masked ranks of Not 606 (Hull Division) must be able to risk assess a 'safe' form of exercise GLP can do, surely...
Actually swimming hurts my knee, because of the LCL rupture which is one of the ones @GLP has so I wouldn’t be convinced swimming will be good. Problem as I understand it it takes the strain off the muscles, but it gets slacker and puts strain on the ligament instead. Maybe ok with crawl, but less so with breast stroke in my experience. Stick to exercise that keeps your leg in a straight line.
Ah that's not a bad idea, except on the way home from the pub, we might not be in a straight line....
Thanks Kemps. Relatively injury free for most of my time on this planet except for a few broken bones. Then two big injuries less than 2 years apart. I’m pretty gutted to be honest. I’ve worked so hard on rehabilitation from the ‘car incident’ I’ve got it all to do again. It’s mentally exhausting even thinking about it.
I've been very lucky apart from a couple of broken bones that I didn't even know were broken until they healed themselves and I only knew that because of the bone growth. The one on my left arm aches like a bad tooth sometimes. Oh wait... Nothing hurts like toothache Earache maybe
Walking is good. I still run a bit, certainly up to 5k is fine, snowboarding, golf etc I can't ski as that needs your knees to bend sideways, and struggle swimming breast stroke for the same reason. Probably simplest thing is to move to indoor triathlons...darts, dominoes and pool !
The surgeon I spoke to yesterday said I’ll have no problem skiing in the future, once it’s all healed up.
That's good My Dr advice might have been more for the other snapped bits then You should still snowboard instead though. At least you look cooler when you're drinking afterwards
That's handy to know. I can't ski at the minute, so if ever I fancy a go, I know how to get on the piste in no time.
Get well soon GLP. Shocking amount of bourgeois type of holidays and activities engaged with on this forum though.
This old thing again. Your dressage horse didn't used to pull milk floats at all, and well you know it. (and neither did your driver either by the way) Anyway I'll see you in the bar later, before the opera starts
I think snowboarding would be worse for my arm if I fell. My mate has broken his wrist a couple of times snowboarding.
