Remember this, because the pundits are never going to mention it, because Liverpool are "so great". In the 2021/22 season just finished, Liverpool failed to beat any of the other teams in the top four. That's six matches by the way. Considering they had VAR and the refs on their side, it's not a great record.
Just seen 3 or 4 fans attacking Villa's goalkeeper immediately after the final whistle. ****ing cowardly bastards. At least City have promised lifetime bans...but it's time for clubs and real fans to stop this ****ing nonsense. Anyone identified as going on the pitch needs banning for life, too. If you know anyone who goes on the pitch, report them.
What gives these cowardly twats the right to think they can do that. Lower than snakes' bellies in my view. Heaven forbid the return of crowd control fences but unless the authorities and get their acts together over the summer, I can't see an alternative, for certain parts of grounds at least.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61551762 Commenting on the decision, Detective Supt. Arsenio Wengerhill said "I did not see the incident".
Just heard the football finance guy Kieran Maguire on Hawksbee and Jacobs Talksport. Still nobody explaining what is going to happen to "that loan" with the sale. I think they're in such confusion over where the money is going that they are hoping that all gets swept under the carpet. He was talking about accounts here that's owned by trusts there. Anyway all very confusing, and completely unsurprising. Another interesting point was that he said he put all sorts of numbers for the value of Chelsea into spreadsheets and couldn't come up with anything like what it is currently being sold for. Also mentioned the quite ludicrous losses Chelsea incurred during the Abramovich years. I forget the actual numbers but it might have been (I am happy to be corrected on this) a bit over £900,000 per month over two decades. It's hard to understand how any new owners are going to be happy with this and willing to pump that much extra in, particularly bearing in mind the earlier point about how much they are (over)paying to start with. All the more odd then that the bookies still have them third favourites for the PL next season! Not only that, unless all this goes through soon, they can't be registered for European competition and subsequently the PL itself. Interesting times, but can't get away from the thought that something dodgy is still going on (even more than writing off a £1.5bn debt that effectively financed all those trophies).
