I've asked the SAG if there would be any issues with moving the away fans to the NW, rather than the NE corner.
its almost 100 in favour of its a bad idea to split our fans. E4,5,6,7 used to join in with E2 and 3 doubt they will now.Theyll be too far away
Never understood why there is an insistence on getting the away fans settled comfortably on their coaches as quickly as possible, basically making it more difficult for the home fans. I remember being at Forest a few years ago, and Villa many years ago - were kept penned in by the local plod for about 30 mins, and only let out of the ground once the home fans had dispersed
If for example the club was prepared to reverse it's decision and agree to locate away fans in blocks N1 to N4 (i.e. the blocks that they currently want us to go in) does anyone know how many seats there are in these 4 blocks? - i.e. would it be enough to satisfy the maximum number that we need to allocate for away fans, or would they need more?
I've heard that offered as a reason, and it's demonstrably bollocks, as not all fans travel by coach, and those that don't are free to mingle with home fans all around the ground, across the park and walkway, and these are often the majority of away fans. That means claiming the coachpark as a reason fans can't be in the NW is not a justifiable reason.
About 600 each I think, maybe slightly fewer. For big turnouts that would put away fans directly behind the goal.
Just like they are now .... except they get the whole stand. Most games away fans could be limited to N1 to N2 (to N3 if needed), with N4 only open to them for big followings now and then. Home support would then no longer need to be divided. Surely a far better solution than what they have decided on. If only we could find a builder and plumber. Even better if it was an end section of WS plus N1 to N3 (max). Sorry to say, they are making a mistake on this one - probably their first of any real importance.
I remember beating Cardiff at Ninian Park in the 80’s, half an hour after the game the local knuckle draggers were still baying for blood and I asked the plod if we could be kept in a bit longer please.
Just out of interest, why is it ok to move Hull fans from the west stand/NW corner but not the fans that are moving?
HCST survey results https://hullcitysupporterstrust.com/wp-content/uploads/HCST-Fans-Survey-March-2022.pdf
So 574 people, when offered no other option, thought moving home fans to the NW was a good idea, 366, plus non-respondents presumably didn't.
And? They have as much right to anyone else to stay in their seat. Plus putting them there imo would make the atmosphere worse as you want the away fans as close as possible to the most vocal home fans to create an atmosphere, wedging them between north and east fans had the "potential" to do that.
The question was to put them in the NE an unbelievable number thought it was a good idea. Its what question you ask decides the answer.
