Mark was with the Swans youth team at the same time as Marc Coates..Jon’s brother. Neither was retained by the club and went on to pastures new although they were excellent in the youth ranks....so sad

Milton Keynes Dons were devastated to learn last week of the tragic passing of our dear friend and colleague Lucy Dawson following her fight against a very short and unexpected illness.

There are really no words to express the shock and extreme sadness we all feel by the loss of such a vibrant and spirited young person.

We will always remember just how much Lucy was committed to our Football Club. Lucy was a season ticket holder from an early age, attending games with her family before joining us on work experience with the media team whilst still at school.

Her enthusiasm and dedication always shone through and led to her recently being promoted to work alongside Andy Wooldridge as Hospitality & Events Coordinator - in her words, her dream job!

Again, she excelled in her role and only a month ago delivered the most magnificent Player of the Year Awards, described by attendees as the ‘best evening ever’.

The Club have opened a book of condolence in the Box Office for supporters who wish to pay tribute to Lucy. The Box Office is open 10am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Our thoughts and support remain with Lucy’s family and friends through this enormously difficult time. While we ask that their privacy continues to be respected, we know that the MK Dons family will come together to support all those affected.

Rest in peace, Lucy. You will be forever missed and forever loved by us all.

Tiffany Youngs, the wife of former England and Leicester hooker Tom, has died after suffering from cancer.

Tiffany was diagnosed with a lymphatic cancer in 2014, prompting Tom to step away from England's tour of New Zealand to care for his wife.

Her brother-in-law Ben Youngs similarly opted not to tour with the British and Irish Lions in 2017 to spend time with family.

    RIP <rose>

It is with great sadness that the Irish FA has learned of the passing of its esteemed former player and manager Billy Bingham at the age of 90.

Billy holds a unique place in the football hearts of Northern Ireland in that he both played at and managed in World Cup final tournaments with Northern Ireland, being part of Peter Doherty’s historic team of 1958 in Sweden and then managing Northern Ireland in the 1982 and 1986 finals.

Billy had an illustrious playing career starting at Glentoran and moving to Sunderland, Luton Town, Everton and Port Vale, earning 56 caps between 1951 and 1964 and scoring 10 goals.

    RIP <rose>

He was the Manager when George Best played for NI against Wales at The Vetch.

They trained at the BP Llandarcy Sports Ground ahead of the game. Here are Billy’s, George’s and Derek Dougan’s autographs.
