You know things are rotten to the core in the Tory party when other candidates have to deny sexual deviancies BEFORE being elected
I like “Have I Got News For You” but the Lefties did a really good job of shooting themselves in the foot on Friday night. The open goal of the Rishi Sunak Windfall Tax proved quite popular. If only somebody from Labour had done their research and helped out Labour Peer Dame Joan Bakewell. She could have pointed out that Sunak and his wife own three homes so they will be getting £1,200 and all those MPs of all parties that own two homes (the second one often paid for by taxpayers via expenses) will get £800. Sadly, Bakewell demonstrated the perfect crazed Leftie understanding of economics – together with the rest of the panellists – making great play of the fact that Sunak and his wife rank 222nd on the Sunday Times Rich List. As Mrs Sunak is almost the entirety of that ‘wealth’ the Left would love her to be taxed heavily on it. What a shame that in the real world, almost all of her ‘wealth’ is in the form of equity – shares in her father’s companies – that she was given and only has nominal paper value. This is just the same as almost everyone on these rich lists but stupid Lefties think they can just tax these people and use the money to put the world to rights. As people buy shares in Tesla, the price goes up and – on paper – Elon Musk gets richer. As people sell Tesla shares, he gets poorer. Yet one of the richest men in the world has to borrow money for most of his investments because more than 90 per cent of his ‘wealth’ is not real money.
