Seeing the problems experienced by EasyJet, today, leading to the cancellation of so many flights, kind of takes the sting out of my journey with Ryanair, yesterday. The 17.25 flight from Bournemouth to Alicante didn’t take off until 23.40 as, despite a variety of excuses put forward at the airport, they didn’t have a crew to fly the plane until another plane had arrived from Alicante. We must have had a good trailing wind as the flight was just 1 hour 55 minutes, which, when you add the hour for European time, meant touching down at around 02.35. I feel for all those people who have had holidays ruined by today’s disruption, especially those I saw on the news with children.
I saw a perfect advert for not having remould tyres, this morning. I had just driven through the small town of Los Montesinos when I saw a small flat bed truck coming towards me. I could see that his rear offside tyre had punctured as the rubber was flapping about. WRONG. No puncture. What I saw flapping was the tread of the tyre that had disconnected from the tyre and then rolled across the road hitting my car by my front wheel! The truck was one of those with 2 wheels on either side of the flatbed, at the back, so the truck was able to carry on driving. Fortunately for the truck driver, this happened about 400 metres from a tyre replacement shop. Moral of the story is, don’t go for cheaper remould tyres.
Every single year without fail there are hold ups on the roads and at airports. Every year I watch in amazement at people who have never learned the lesson. I have never travelled on bank holidays and never will. Stay at home and rest...the best holiday in the world will never compensate you for the stress of the journey.
The cause of the airport delays. https://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2...thfhlg_FRW0DezXiD7PAwXAs3qqoNamDhFk&fs=e&s=cl
They're lucky, I went through that disappointment every other Saturday since August. And the winner is..........................Newcastle, Watford, Palace, Wolves, Chelsea and Liverpool.
