Oh I wasnt disagreeing with you LoL, was just giving my explanation to Polly of how I interpreted your comment differently to himself
Morning all. Imagine if Raph had done what Kalvin did and said he's going to Barcelona for whatever they're willing to pay?
Why? How much did city realky pay? How much is the chunk up front. Same with rapha we need cash to improve the all round team. Who else was in for kalvin? What did they bid?. I have moved on already and could not care less what they achieve in football. This pre season we are signing new blood and what an improvement to last years debacle. So I'm happy to wait and see how we go as a unit.
Obviously it's all rumour and supposition but the word was that there were better offers for Philips. From what was reported he only had eyes for City. All I'm saying is that if Raph felt the same about Barcelona we might have lost a chunk of cash. That was all
Last year we allowed Alioski to go and we brought in a LB who on paper should have been a huge improvement. We signed James who was a record signing with PL experience and had been wanted for a long time by Bielsa. Two in and one out, this season we’re allowing the best two to leave and on paper signing 3 players who don’t look any better. The same as last season on head count, +1 I knew it was coming (KP and Raphinha), we all did but as it stands I fail to see any hope of optimism. The three signings would be great if we were saying goodbye to Rodrigo and Roberts. The next two signings are the big ones, or they’d better be. If it’s Tyler Adams then we might as well throw the towel in
Raphinha could still turn down Chelsea mate. Arsenal tried last night and were sent packing by Leeds, Spurs not put an offer in, PSG having a clear out and Leeds refusing to answer the phone to Barcelona as they are over £20m out. Lets hope Raph accepts Chelsea or we end up like we did with Phillips story was that Phillips was wanted by Chelsea, WHU to partner Rice, PSG, Man Utd and City
A tricky one because if there was a £10m better offer from the other side of Manchester what would we have said if he’d went there? Someone else pointed out, PL football is worth £150m a year so if the difference was relegation or another season in the PL then their fees running down would be irrelevant. KP going for the amount he did is nearly as bad as Cantona going for £1m it makes no sense
KP has gone cheap but if we recruit well and improve then it suddenly turns in to a good deal. From here on its about recruitment. If we get that wrong then it has been terrible business. If we get Camara for example for 20 million and he turns out to be Kante MKII then it's an incredible piece of business. If he turns out to be the African Forshaw then we've been had (again).
That’s Tyler Adams at RB Leipzig, who we’re in dispute with over Augustin. No problem with Camara at RB Salzburg. Apart from him apparently preferring Brighton.
Remember from that 150m we paid 48m in bonuses. Take the huge wages into account and Ill bet there isn't a fortune left from the 150m
