There's no doubt he didn't pull up any trees in his first season but I'd like to see him have a run of 10 games to get up to full match fitness before making any rash judgements. Can't have been easy coming from Barcelona and then having such a stop start season.

Ok I get it that you're not exactly enamoured by him and the lack of a recovery run against Man U but at least try and give the lad a chance to redeem himself.

    Ho ho ho.

But it didn't did it ?

There were some signs of improvement from Firpo under Jesse and that was after he picked up what was originally considered a season ending injury against Villa in Jesse's 2nd match. Some players might have used that as an excuse to hide but Firpo got fit and helped keep us up when others lost their heads and got red carded.

I and a few more have questioned the strategy of bringing in players that Marsch knows well or have played under him before. I understand why hes doing it and then I look across the Pennines and see a new Dutch manager trying to bring in former Ajax players and Dutch players. I suppose you could say that the manager wants to give himself the brst and easiest chance of putting his stamp on a new team

We have to give him a chance and moan if it doesnt work later

    No no no Doc.

That's not how it works at all.

The moaning has to come now and be persistant, then like Elland and his " I told you all we were sh*t in preseason comments " you get to gloat forever and a day about what a football sage you are.

If it goes the other way then it's a case of they needed the kick up the backside my wise words undoubtably gave them.

More likely it just overheated and cut out for a bit.

Probably doing too many of the blue rinse brigade early doors but at least it gave him chance to get the breakfast debate up at 7-30 am for a nice change.

    Top lad our elland <ok>

I mentioned Postecoglou at Celtic before. He rebuilt the squad there over one summer and used loads of ex players from Greece and Japan he had previously worked with. None of them would have been spotted without him and he clearly has a bias for signing players he knows. We can but hope Jesses obsession with players he's worked with, pans out the same way

If it is an obsession then let's hope it continues.

Signing current internationals whose countries have qualified for the WC and who've also done well in the CL doesn't seem such a bad idea. Add in the fact that they're all at an age with improvement in front of them and they know and respect the coach enough to sign for us then that's even more reason to be positive.

A lot easier signing players for the SPL than our premier league with no disrespect intended.

It’s considered by some that it often takes a while for players to adapt to marsch’s methods/strategy. Taking players he’s worked with before should reduce the adaptation time.

I don’t mind bosses going back for old players in general anyway. They know them, know their personalities and attributes… reduces the inherent risk of transfer disaster!

Here we go again Orta spotted waiting to board a flight to Brussels this morning. So is it Lang or is it the special K or even Gakpo at PSV as Eindhoven isnt far from Brussels? Or is a prezzy for his wife of Chocolate or beer

It's definately got something to do with the turbo which has caused the car to go into 'limp mode'.

I think Camara is my preference at 4 tbh but I am huge fan of Berge as an 8.

If Roca was not Phillips replacement I'm not sure why we bought him. Where will he ft in?

    my uneducated take is:

roca is left footer.. left side of the double pivot. Adams/camara/berge will be the other side. Think the concept of 4/6/8 isn’t quite as clear cut in jessieworld

So we have Roca, Camara/Berge as pivots. Guessing it will be Aaronson and Harrison/Rodrigo/James in front with Bamford and A.N.Other up top?

Why are we in for more wingers? Why do we have this fascination for wingers?

We need midfielder, left back and striker. Done.

to confuse matters more… de ket (if we are serious about him) is apparently an attacking midfielder, winger and striker.

Can only assume there’ll be more outgoings
