Again, reading a bit of history is your friend. Have a look at what actual fascists did and how they operated. Way too much like hard work for Johnson and co.
I think it's just dawned on me why so many men seemed to 'fall for' Boris and why they defend him so fiercely ... he's their totally non-pc alter ego and how they'd like to behave in their dreams or when they've had a few. There are seemingly no consequences for what he says or does, he's openly racist, sexist and never hesitates to slag off his work colleagues. Whether it's openly calling people bum boys or shouting about keeping those bloody foreigners out it's all just like another lunchtime sesh in the boozer with blokes that think like you do. He picks up and drops women on a whim, shags them and leaves them to bring up the kids without having to do all the messy stuff and always has a spare on the side. He's like the Viz character people shake their heads at but laugh at and secretly admire. Wouldn't it be great to be able to say whatever you like at work without a care, get pissed and ignore the rules or make up your own if you didn't like them. But, in the end, you'll come to realise that an endless 'lad's weekend' is really quite sad; it's good to have a bit of responsibility and care for the people around you. It's better to have some respect for people rather than always look down on them and treat everything as one big laugh. Because life's not like that and when his job eventually goes he'll look like a sad bumbling clown that people just don't find funny anymore. Like the ex-office joker, who pops back in 'to see the old gang' people will roll their eyes and groan when they see him show up. They'll see him for what he is, a scruffy badly dressed fat man who's jokes aren't actually funny and who cares for no one but himself ... ... it might be fun to be that character for a while but once the novelty has worn off iit would be good to get back to reality. Like that Christmas and New Year that just drags on a bit too long it's quite comforting not to have to be one of the lads drinking and acting the fool. Boris will be the one who just can't let it drop and keeps letting party poppers off in your face ... ... eventually someone will give him a slap and tell him to f**k off.
Turning these people into the common enemy Trans Woke Bum boys Vulnerable migrants - removing human rights Women dressed as letter boxes Gypsy/ travellers - removing rights Removed rights for victims of crime Removing rights to protest All so an elite few can rule No history books required
The fact that you can say these things and have someone disagree with you on a public forum rather than report you to the secret police and then get your door smashed in at 4am to be dragged off to a camp you'll never return from indicates that you do need a history book or two. Ask the Ukrainians who are settling here what it's like to live under real oppression and authoritarianism - most of them over 40 will be able to tell you. The 'woke' have turned themselves into the enemy - hyper-aggression does not go down well with the British people. Well, those whose first instinct is not to lie down and die through some misplaced feeling of national shame, anyway. Same with the type of protester leaving their leafy villages where they're happily retired and don't have to worry where their next meal is coming from to stop people getting to work to earn money to feed their families. Removing the right to be a dickhead is something we should all be on board with. letterboxes and 'bum boys' - when you've been to a middle eastern county and watched these fat slobs cutting about in a shorts and vest while their wives boil alive in the name of a sky fairy, you have a little bit less respect for a culture that's barely moved since the middle ages, frankly. If we're pulling comments from the last century to prove a point, well, I hope everyone else is without sin. I'm not. However, our part of the world has moved on since then. Others, even most, haven't. The people you quote above can't walk the streets across most of the world without literally fearing for their lives. That very rarely happens in the UK. Calling it fascist because a particular politician or party is living rent free in your head is crackers, if you ask me. The UK is demonstrably a better, more progressive place than when I grew up in the late 70s and 80s. The idea that burning it all down will make it better is madness. It will just facilitate exactly the kind of thing you think is happening now.
I wonder if the people being dragged into planes and sent to a country that recently committed genocide agree with you. It seems gypsies don’t.
Chris Pincher, the Tory groper, 'I had too much to drink and made a mistake.' Exactly the excuse magistrates hear from the working class every week and ignore. He'll not be charged with sexual assault though ... ... because he's apologised and wants to 'move on'. Perhaps I'll try that with Mrs Smug
Aye but there’ll be people on saying it’s ok the rule of law doesn’t apply cos it’s worse elsewhere. Well guess what? It’s also been much much better prior to posh Johnson
Yes well it was Thatcher that made interested in politics, I could not believe anyone could be so cruel. Perhaps her cruelty was only exceeded by Scargil's stupidity by walking into her trap.
What would your solution be to illegal immigration and the poor behaviour frequently displayed by a section of the travelling community?
Illegal immigration - cooperation with other countries to manage the traffickers , aid, peace building to prevent war, the reasons people need to travel. Definitely not to treat vulnerable humans as evil criminal threats. It’s irrational. Humans are not illegal. The travelling community is a difficult one - designated places is the best answer but people object. So probably work o. Increasing respect and tolerance. Stopping them from participating in traditions isn’t the way. It simply won’t work Hate and intolerance never leads to a good outcome Just want to say that your language indicates why you have intolerance. There isn’t always a solution. Things just need management. You won’t stop crime per se. You have to find the best way of making it less harmful.
The dinghies are reported as stolen by the owners in France. They actually sell them to traffickers. When they arrive in Dover the owners claim them and they go back to Calais where they're 'stolen' all over again. It would be a million times cheaper to buy the boats, destroy them and buy up anything in Calais, etc. Then upgrade a stricter register of boats, which exists anyway, and introduce fines for anyone losing one. Introduce a series of big penalties for any owner found selling one to anyone who isn't registered. Instruct boat sales outlets to insist on a licence, insurance and proof of address. And so on. When we had our powerboat in Cannes I had to provide all of that. I was obliged to pay by card, cash wasn't acceptable as part of the money laundering regs. This could all happen if we could only speak to the French. But it doesn't create the headlines that Naval gunboats and flights to Rwanda do.
If they create the perception that there is an enemy - a dangerous foreign invader coming to threaten our safety - it triggers people and plays into the hands of authoritarians who are generally the white wealthy ruling class. In fact most of us have more in common with those travelling. People trying to find a safe, happy life. A nice job and a nice home. They aren’t trying to take away our rights and manipulate us. It’s the government the nation voted for doing that bit. Boris and Co are the threats
