And the “Cnut of the week “ award goes to …………… Bernie Ecclestone !
How can anyone support a man responsible for the bombing of theatre’s, supermarkets and residential flats/ homes - I hope he’s standing in front of Putin when the said bullet comes and takes both the Cnuts out <cheers>

I don't think we should be picking a fight with China. Ms Truss is getting carried away.

Some things I'll have to look up concerning IndyRef2...

Would an Independent Scotland under SNP administration withdraw from NATO and become officially Neutral?
Whatever the answer, I think voters should be very clear on these important matters.

There won't be any more clarity than there was with B****t on matters like Northern Ireland. The campaign will similarly be based on nationalism.

I guess I shouldn't be concerned about it.
If Scotland leaves the union all questions regarding what it does from that point on are matters for its own population, not foreigners.
Democracy matters more than strategic security.
That's the core difference between the free West, and the empires of Russia & China.

Crafty move by wily Nicola, holding the referendum while the despicable Boris is still in situ. His unpopularity in Scotland could just swing it

    That would really annoy him.

Boris clearly doesn't mind history remembering him as the PM who ended standards in public office.
Our first openly dishonest and law breaking Prime Minister with no sense of shame.
But he won't want history to remember him as the PM who allowed the break-up of the United Kingdom on his watch.

I love these "right on" slebs who say they support environment activists, while they personally burn more fuel in their racing cars or private jets each week than a small country gets through in a year..

    Talking the talk is in.
    Walking the walk is out.
Applies everywhere as far as the environment goes.

The Prime Minister who prefers not to know things...

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-62032329

Labour chairwoman Anneliese Dodds has written to the PM seeking details on what No 10 knew of the claims.
"Only Boris Johnson could have looked at this guy's record and thought,
'He deserves a promotion'," she said.

    <laugh> great observation Ms Dodds

    Breaking news...

Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid have both resigned.
The Chancellor and the Health Secretary - both saying they cannot continue to serve in good conscience.

That is surely the end of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.

Watching this through tears of laughter. The most corrupt government in our history, and the rats swimming away now were complicit in lying to defend him. They knew how utterly bad Johnson was for the job, but gave it to him anyway. Let's have Daft Dorries next. The ****-fest continues.

Daft Dorries and Priti 'Rwanda' Patel are staying loyal.
The "re-shuffled" Cabinet now has nodding dogs in the positions of Chancellor, Health Secretary and Education Secretary.
More glove puppets than an episode of Fingerbobs.

The one and only brief the Cabinet of Her Majesty's Government has is to keep Boris Johnson in his job.
They aren't even pretending otherwise now.

Meanwhile the cost of living crisis is fast becoming an emergency.
Like the last emergency (the pandemic) I wouldn't be surprised if the Government decides that it will need emergency powers to deal with it.
But (unlike at the outbreak of the pandemic) there will be no common feeling of pulling together among the British People.
    No 'Dunkirk spirit'.
Boris squandered all of that goodwill with his partying, boozing scorn for the sacrifices people were making.

Boris Johnson is now truly in charge of a totally ineffectual, paralysed and self-obsessed freak show.
An embarrassment and a farce that bears no relationship to a functioning Government.

Expect wild tax cutting promises in the next week or two - assuming Boris and his Flying Circus survives that long.
Expect ridiculous borrowing and spending pledges.
The kind of nonsense that Corbyn was offering in 2019, that nobody in the country believed one word of.

It doesn't bode well for the Country that Boris Johnson is apparently happy that he has much more control now over No.11 Downing Street and the other ministries, where former colleagues with their own minds who would stand up to him if necessary are now replaced by nodding dogs.

The Prime Minister's own personality and personal whims are seemingly ever more dominant.
That would be of concern even if he was a towering political genius.
But he isn't. And his cult-like power over Government will only make bad situations worse, until he is forced to resign.

Can't believe Boris is still clinging on. Shades of Trump; lucky we don't have a presidential system.
