Both very fortunate to escape barely unscathed there ! I'd like it to be a little harder than it is, but with this course I don't know how they'd do it now except but putting in more pot bunkers or introducing water somewhere apart from the burne that's already there. For me the best Open course will always be Carnoustie, when the rough was head high and pure evil ! Looks like a shootout tomorrow between Hovland and Mcilroy.

Happy with the Now TV investment - got a month as it was only a tenner more than the price for two days. Now looking forward to the discount offers when I don’t renew….

Hope Rory can see it home tomorrow.

Now is great value for me as I split the cost with my brother. Get a lot out of it between the F1, football and bits and bobs like this weekend.

It sounds almost too good to be true.
Are there any disadvantages compared to Sky through a dish? Apart from not being able to rewind live TV.
I'm surprised Sky allow it to happen, especially when they're so protective of Sky Atlantic.

Yeah, I'd like Rory to do it too.

Should be a straight shootout between Rory and Hovland but there are some big names in the top 10 who are capable of a 63 or even better on a defenceless Old Course. Sometimes 'matchplay' in a final pairing can open it up for the chasers...

Rory playing well but not making putts. Smith and Young look more of a threat than Hovland...

We've got our own mullet man in the cricket. Reece Topley's taken 3 for 15 so far today after 6-24 the other day.

Smith on the charge and draws level.
    Fear for Rory now.

Another birdie and Smith leads by one. Rory leaves a 60 foot putt inches short, sums his day up...

Rory doesn’t look like he could buy a birdie at the moment. Smith playing beautifully all round.

McIlroy needs a hole in one on the last by the look of it……eagle would send it into a play off….

…..will finish third if he doesn’t birdie it….

Can’t begrudge Smith this, a round of 64 today, stunning putting but the rest of his game excellent as well.
