Morning, team. I see a couple of major (well in my opinion at any rate) Cheltenham stories have broken in the past few days.

    (i) The qualification process for the Pertemps Final has changed with now only the top 4 (previously the top 6) from each qualifier being eligible for the Final. I think they make a creditable case as to why this is being implemented but I wish the powers that be had left things alone. Now its going to be less a case of 'more plots than an Agatha Christie novel' and more 'as many plots as an Agatha Christie novel'.

(ii) Connections have yet to decide whether to send Blazing Khal over fences or keep him over hurdles in 2022/23. I so love this horse. I said after his 2nd Grade 2 win at the course, in December, that I've never seen a staying novice storm up the Cheltenham hill like he did that day but, unfortunately, injury then intervened and that was it re Blazing Khal and 2021/22. I just hope they make the right decision re Blazing Khal's future.

In the 15:08 at Deauville over a distance just short of 6f, Recording Angel (Exceed and Excel filly out of an Iffraaj mare) might well show enough improvement to be in the money? 2nd on debut run 16-days ago at Dieppe. Mickael Barzalona rides for the powerful André Fabre stable. No idea what evental SP will be, at the moment price indication is 4/1.

Sorry, LG, I really thought she'd do better than that. 5/2 Fav. too, so there must have been some money for the filly. Finished 4th.

Nice one YS, I’m very disappointed as I was on the fav and had it in a nice double with Mukha Magic earlier in the day. Why he went up the inside I don’t know. Stayed out wide would have won easily. Oh well.
