Apparently we are reliant upon electricity imports from the EU this winter. If they are short themselves due to Putin we won't be getting much. Looks like power cuts coming our way.

Gordon Brown was quite happy to not regulate the banks while they were paying billions in corporation tax to fund his spending extravagance. When their casino-like operations were exposed by the financial collapse, he could have split the banks up, ring-fencing the deposits of ordinary customers and let the dodgy parts of the investment banking system go bust. Instead he opted for pseudo nationalisation that resulted in a decade of austerity.

<doh> Another Farked19 fantasy with all the salient facts omitted to spare one eyed Gordon’s blushes.

When you are planning on dumping a huge amount of any commodity onto a market, it is not very smart to tell the market in advance that it is going to happen. He then secured the worst price possible for the sale, which was actually done over a three year period. Five years later the same sale would have netted nearly £5bn more, assuming that Brown had not allowed the market to short him again.

Amazingly over the last 21 years, the value of most property has risen as rates of new building have stagnated because governments of all political colours have failed to reform housebuilding and the BoE has dished out cheap money. I lived in a flat that rose 160 per cent in value between 1998 and 2005. My father bought a new build 55 years ago that has risen 4,200 per cent in value. Fantastic hindsight.

How can it be a glimpse into the future? It is here now.

You did not graduate from the University of Twitter with the third degree.

Stop being disingenuous – you created most of those Trump memes that he posts.

We all want him to stand for re-election because he was the funniest thing in American politics since Sarah Palin’s right to arm bears.

The Left are ideologically correct. Losing elections because nobody likes your ideology is fine.
The Left are morally superior. Losing elections because the electorate are immoral is fine.
The Left are a collection of minorities that can only achieve their objectives through collectivisation. This is why they are so keen on gender identity politics, cancel culture and Wokeism generally.

What a shame for the Labour Party that the working class people that it claims to represent do not find that it speaks for them anymore. The only route to office is by the implosion of the other side, to be followed by a few years of disastrous mismanagement before they are once again cast into the wilderness.

So does the thick **** you are quoting give any reasons why things might have changed over the last 6 years?

    And?

I think you are barking up the wrong tree if you think I in anyway supported the banks being bailed out or the red Tory government at the time.
