good to see the crowd appreciating gooch and evans despite all you read on here. considering these shot into a 3-0 lead over boro we have kept them fairly quiet and created a few ourselves, our defence is standing up to most that is put on them, midfield is looking like it has full control which is unusual. let's hope the second half is as good as i honestly feel like we have not reached second gear, yet.
Excellent first half, we've dictated the game from the start and our midfield 3 have been excellent. Evans has absolutely strolled through the game and dominated so far, snuffing out any little bit of danger. Pritchard's movement and willingness to drop deeper has confused them and allowed Neil a lot of the ball in more space slightly advanced on the right where he's looked composed. Simms and Stewart need no more Superlatives. SAS! The decision to bring on O'Nein was obviously a surprise to some but I think Wright's mobility is an issue at RCB and Alese is all left foot. It looks like any back 3 will be Cirkin or Alese and Baath or Wright plus Ballard. An injury to Ballard either makes that CB a top priority or perhaps triggers a change in formation.
I think you are right mate. It seemed puzzling but I suspect Alex Neil is afraid of the pace on that left hand side, plus Dykes will naturally pull onto the left hand side and he may think ONien is better suited to that sort of duel. Enjoyed the performance. Pritchard, Evans and Neil all playing great for.
For me its simple maths with strikers who have the precious knack of scoring goals we double the chance of scoring with 2 up top. Need back- up for them... And midfield and defence need back-up as well. But great so far...Pritchard is also outstanding
They have no choice but to push on, leaves us room to break. I'd have Roberts on now to stretch them, Clarke off.
