Well, what if Burnley's defence decides to go awol, or we put in a blinder? Judge it after the game not before..
Oscar forced Aarons to make that mistake,he had to rush his clearance because of his pressure. Wasn’t luck was his reluctance to give up on that ball. He bullied Hanley all game.
I think you're missing the point of a prediction... Aarons had literally the rest of the pitch to aim for. Of course Oscar's presence played a part, and like I say, you have to be in the right position to finish your chances, but you'd expect a professional footballer to do better than that, even under pressure. Putting the first goal aside for a minute, as it's clear we have differing views on it. The second goal followed a comedy of errors by Norwich trying to clear a corner (which incidentally, is where our only 2 other shots of target came from). How many other clear cut chances did we have? We still looked pretty clueless going forward. Not all teams will be as calamitous as at the back as Norwich were yesterday. We have to improve if we want to compete at the top half of the table. I'm not sure that's a particularly controversial statement.
All you seem to be focusing on is Norwich and not us. Tetteh had a pretty good chance he snatched at and skied, Tufan just outside the box is a sitter to him. Norwich couldn’t clear the ball from the corner as well were first to every second ball. You can accommodate their poor defending but you have to give us credit too. Norwich didn’t make any good chances themselves in the first half. Their best chance came from us fannying about with the ball…
If, buts and maybes, at the end of 90 minutes all that counted was that we’d scored more than them. Oh and winning becomes a habit
I just hope to see a performance, can’t expect a result from this one. I expect we’ll probably start with Covill in goal and Tetteh in defence or something like that, play like ****, Burnley miss enough sitters to set a new seasonal goals scored record, and we somehow scrape a draw.
I always maintain that team should have won the championship at a canter and possibly even a record points total. Brucie was mid way through his doom spiral though and the **** show behind the scenes was gathering momentum. We’d go 1-0 up and all the strikers would be subbed off by the hour mark more often than not.
