For some reason normal people don’t know how powerful they are, you don’t need unions or anybody else,. Facebook is a great platform for people to stick together but they won’t so quite honestly Monty I’m passed giving a s hit.

Exactly mate, I don't know the answer however as long as there's a chance they can come here and make any kind of life for themselves then they try to get here.
If they knew when they arrived they would be returned to their country of origin or moved elsewhere would they keep risking their lives to get here if there was no chance of staying. Like you have said if our leaders keep making false threats we won't solve anything, it's like when the missus used to keep telling our son if he kept misbehaving she would take his PlayStation off him, she never did and it didn't take him long to realise these were just empty threats

Life in the UK isn't often too great for the unemployed or the low paid. Life as an illegal immigrant can be grim so you'd think where they're coming from must be horrendous. Being in a parched land, plagued by droughts, a dictatorial government, child poverty and high crime is obviously preferable to where they've come from ... it must be hell there to leave your culture, language, family, etc.

The cost, the journey, the transit camps, the crossing, etc, must be little deterrent ...

... the world's a mess and there are no easy answers.

Spot on. That last sentence especially. Many of these won’t even hear about the deterrent. Rumours from traffickers, gossip on camps. It’s not like they’re logging in to uk.gov for travel advice. You’d think so when you look at uk.gov but it’s all gimmicks from a government full of liars.
If only the public would understand everything is messy and there are no easy answers. ‘Stop the immigrants and we’ll get a our appointment quicker and be richer’ isn’t really true, partially as always. The wealth and money for investment lies in other peoples accounts and it’s the system that has to be changed which is complicated and requires time.
An anthropologist called Rene Girard said that society always gathers in a group and finds a scapegoat, then when they ve attacked them they realise that wasn’t the problem and attack another one. Todays migrants are tomorrows benefit scroungers are tomorrows woke lefties and on we go.

close...these days society is gathered together by the media and the media give them the scapegoat...remember the programmes about 'benefit scroungers' and everyone supposedly living the life of riley on the dole, remember how that slowly changed to people on the sick and how they were all lying to get extra benefits with the media informing us of how much it was costing the average person...these days it is more likely to be some reason to 'fear the dark skinned peoples'.

what we need is some new mainstream media (not tiktok or you tube) that informs people of how much these scavengers are creaming off the country in these top jobs, how those with companies all drive big posh motors and have big posh houses yet do no work apart from occasionally checking to see where they can pay less to workers/have less workers to pay so they can have even more wealth they wont/cant ever spend.

I agree with that sentiment and the things that really scare me are big business algorithms and our devices listening in!! Last week two mates talked about their weddings while out and we all got targeted adds about weddings. We didn’t press a button. People could very easily play divide and rule.
Have you seen double down news? Haven’t fully sussed it yet but it has a former telegraph writer Peter Oborne and former guardian George Monbiot. Haven’t agreed with all pieces I’ve seen (which is good) but they seem to be critical of different political opinions and aim to tell stories the media won’t tell.

not the first time i have heard this.. i used to watch with interest until it became clear there were many questions asked but rarely was there an answer, believe me, if they get a little too close to anything they will be shut down and given zero air time.

i used to just 'think it in passing' so to speak but each day i become more and more convinced that should anyone actually manage to dig deep enough or a none corrupt government actually make it into power, this country will get the biggest shock ever...the media, or rather 'those who are actually in charge' will stop anything that might point to the truth.

how far down the line did the investigation reach after the jimmy saville incident before it just suddenly stopped...as soon as the trail reached the houses of parliament and royalty began to be mentioned.

The queens money paying off the person he potentially abused being the ultimate. Years after saying he doesn’t sweat and he’ll speak to the FBI he hasn’t. I’d add in corporations though not just media. Musk wanting to own Twitter and let it all flow- he’s one of those removing workers rights while he has a bit of fun and the government will be in hock to him for jobs. Hartlepool already is.

It's all falling apart for Jacinda Ardern in New Zealand. She was a trailblazer, apparently.

Not sure why, all she ever done was give everybody a daft goofy smile. It seems she's not very good at managing the economy and the right wing parties will be moving in next.

It's all fallen apart for the liar, he was all bluster and bravado, went to meetings and cracked jokes then stuck his thumb up and shouted let's get it done. No one knew what was decided or direction to take. He's messed up Brexit, covid and the refugee crisis. Where do they go from here? Truss is modelling herself on the liar and Sunak is out of touch with society. We need a general election to sort the liars mess out... until that day, and result of the electorate, I'll wait for the shoite to settle

What's the point of a General Election when there's no credible opposition and the Cons would stay in power (with 'our' (the electorate's) blessing) :emoticon-0112-wonde

Would it not be best to wait until Labour have a leader that could provide decent opposition ?

    This reminds me of Starmer . . . .

The electorate will pass judgment on the liar and his party, nothing to do with anything else.

    Five months ago ...

"The Royal Navy will take over responsibility for tackling illegal crossings of the English Channel and people smugglers who pilot the small boats will get life sentences, Boris Johnson has announced. The Prime Minister says £50m will be spent on new boats, aerial surveillance and military personnel."

"5 hours agoThe Royal Navy is planning to end its role in charge of tackling Channel migrants"

    £50m wasted <doh>
