If you've been helpless, it is a relief to be able to have an impact.

If every thought is too painful, it is a relief to act.

If nothing else works, exhaustion is the nearest thing to peace

    From the Telegraph

Such trivial matters as moaning managers, bickering prima donnas and relegation battles were put into stark perspective at the Keepmoat Stadium last night as Billy Sharp displayed remarkable levels of bravery after opting to play despite the tragic loss of his two-day-old son Luey on Saturday.

truly feel sad for the man, it was a great act from him to play despite losing his son.

Carlos Tevez - £250,000 a week. Refuses to play because he doesn't feel up to it.

Billy Sharp - £10,000 a week. Will play two days after the tragic loss of his two day old son.

Carlos, hang your head in shame.

This. That scumbag is a disgrace. I hope Billy and his partner can move on and keep trying to raise a family, and I hope their little lad rests in peace, and shines on the rest of his dads career. I love footballers like him, honest, hard working people doing what they love, and then you look at Tevez. He makes me so angry, especially when you see the tribute of Billy Sharp. Credit to Doncaster and Middlesbrough, as well as the fans of both clubs who took part in a minutes applause.

Its a terrible shame, but I don't think this should be continually brought up, and I don't think Billy Sharp gives a toss about what Carlos Tevez gets paid. Loads of players do the 'not playing at all due to contract discussions', Modric did it this season, its irrelevant. Also £10,000 a week isn't peanuts either.

Really feel for Billy Sharp, and pleased he managed to play, but no need to drag divs like Tevez into the situation.

He has shown bravery and comitment that I really hope none of us ever fully understand. Losing a child mudt be pretty much the worst thing that can ever happen to anyone.

Thoughts with him and his family.

Hi - Cardiff City fan here.

Your story bears an uncanny resemblance to my own - I too went straight back to work the day after my father died, and he too only saw my then only son twice. I did eventually take some time off - after the funeral when the grief really did hit like a hammer blow - it comes in waves & there's sod all you can do about it.

Anyway, I'm just popping in the pay my respects to Louie Sharpe, who scored an amazing goal under such difficult personal circumstances. I think we'll all remember that one, and why.
