2 poor sides out there today but we didn't have the chance to sort our 1st half performance out. stupid sending off but if you are going to book people for that why don't players get booked for holding the ball after a throw in. one of the villa players belted the ball away in the first 5 mins after knowing we had the throw in. the ref was wnak today very petty our game of football is becoming a non-contact sport. the players of old who have past away will be turning in their graves at how pansy it's become. any slight contact these days they roll around like they have been shot and the whistle blows with a foul. good point end if the day under the circumstances but my god that was dire to watch from all aspects from reffing to the quality.
that Andy Hinchcliff or whatever he's called is just as bad as that don goodman he hates Leeds a complete hater and fukcing hopeless in what he does absolute dire all round today
he kind of said as much in his sky interview… plus having a dig at opposition gamesmanship. I listened to the first 25 mins in the radio and Clinton Morrison was laying into Villa for timewasting after 20 mins.
It’s a poor performance and poor result. Gloss it up anyway you like. Gonna be a long season if we have to watch that ****e regularly
Who’s glossing it? We were sh*t for a half and then played a half with 10 men. We’ve played some decent stuff at times this season so far. Just none today!
Evening all. Villa got every free ball. We struggled to make any progress when we had the ball whereas they were cutting us open. Horrible fkrs. Bailey, Mings, Young and Konsa all made cynical fouls when we had an opening but none got booked. A clash of legs and Sinisterra's first offence and he gets a yellow. Bailey should have got a yellow early for kicking the ball away too. Coops has been out for a while so was rusty but we got a clean sheet. Sinisterra is going to be a superstar. superstar. He beats players for fun and always finds a pass. Yet again Summerville just didn't get anything going, maybe we should have put Gnonto on. Klich was a great messer when he came on. A couple of times when they had a throw he picked the ball up and threw it behind them. Roca and Adams were solid again and Rasmus was much better. Best thing was that was the first time we've looked decent with 3 at the back. Gutted but we were lucky to get a point imo
TWO POSITIVES - TWO NEGATIVES Positives 1) When we went down to 10 men, we changed our tactics and went 5 at the back and defended well, and kept Villa quiet. 2)We won more than our fair share of headers. We're far better in the air than last season Negatives 1) We can't tackle. 2) The amount of free kicks we gave any, we deserved to get punished
What was the story today. We had ayling dressed as Batman and Bamford with his arm in a cast. What do these lads get up to in their time off
Villa's tactical aproach to slow the game down & frustrate the Leeds players & fans alike, almost got them the three points, diabolical time wasting and going to ground, looking for free kicks & getting players booked was a horrible watch, but as i said earlier that Douglas Luiz's new exactly what he was doing to get Sinisterra sent off, he looked at him and thought aye aye golden opertunity here, so for the one and only time took a quick free kick aimed deliberatly at Sinisterra, who stuck out a foot and the rest is history as they say, I don't know what anoyed me the most, the tactic or Sinisterra stupidity for falling for it, for the way the match was officiated their was only ever going to be one outcome.
Really good backs to the wall stuff from the lads today and Jesse made a really smart tactical move in going to 5 at the back. Positionally Firpo was spot on and so it's time some of you gave the lad a proper chance. Meslier for all his faults made some excellent saves without which the game would surely have been lost. A point gained and we move on.
Just got back from Blackpool and watched on motd and we had some chances. Like another poster stated last season we would have lost. Good point in the end.
Meslier was just reacting to my recent praise for how improved he is on crosses. Posters curse. He did make some important blocks - got his angles right and made himself big well for several one on ones. I’m now hesitant to offer praise for it though….
If I’d of been on the pitch I would of shouted out to all our players infront of that cnut Atwell “ next free kick take it quick and at a Villa player who is only a yard away”and then ask the ref what’s he doing about it, he then is on the spot. But Cooper won’t think that fast, too busy thinking about a square pass, or thinking about how to wrestle someone down in our own box, sorry he’s past it for the Prem.
