    it makes no sense.

    Why?

cos its not designed for playing against a team who set up to not come out and engage.

the whole "broken play" thing is deisgned for pulling someone out of position and for an unexpected player to arrive in that space.

If trent wanders off on a run then he has to be found with the pass. However teams are looking for this now and not following Henderson out. If they see out cms dropping into space they let them by in large. basically none of them could pass their way though a wet paper bag at times anyway. SO if Henderson drops in and nobody follows him then trent looks a fool for running in to a channel where there no space.

I genuinely think trent is not as half as smart as klopp thinks he is. He might be told run to space but he has to recognise where the space is and not.

same for salah. cut in cut in, back pass. Full backs are not even having an issue marking him any more as its so blindingly obvious what he does. ESP when there nothing in the box to cross too off his left. they just cover the channel and he will never go wide to the by-line to cross.

Its all very obvious at this point and more to the point exploitable. Its as obvious as the day is long that our cbs will not cover each other ever., its obviousl the RB will either let a run go or just not be there so you've always got an out to play at matip and the rB slot and you'll pull him out there against pace or try run him and you are in.

it happens 2 or 3 times per game and almost inevitably we concede.

Nunez will be fine, the whole team is out of shape and not easy for him to come into a dysfunctional team and also missing games from the red card.

our problem is not in attack, its the fact that we're so open when we lose the ball. there's so much space between lines, runners aren't getting tracked and clearances are missed.

I have to admit to being disappointed in him so far, but I agree that the whole side is underperforming so it's been a hard ask: so much expectation. What can you do though when the whole side is ****?

Klopp is caught between a rock and a hard place. You can't bin players who have put so much into the last few seasons yet you can't show loyalty to those same players who are failing week in week out to turn up because the campaigns are suffering.

    So, what should he do?

    So for me

    1. So he headbutted a guy. OK let's.move on. Done is done and whatever the guy said in Spanish I'm sure he felt the big man after.

    2. It's not the in ability to get a game. It's not the lack of effort.

    3. It's the fact when he's got on he has ran bad channels into diaz's space rather than central. Seems to want to run way past the near post.

    4. It's the fact the rare time he's run a channel that he never looks up and hoofs it. Never once has I seen him hold it up or look to bring someone into the game. This is me no 1 issue. That worries me.more than anything.

    5. He's has some right belters of hits from nowhere so he's has a strike on him and we know he can head them too.

It'd not the lack of game time for me, it's the clueless nature of what he has done thus far. And he didn't do this against us. Quite odd.

    Worrying.

All we can do until January at least is change tactics to adapt to our current weaknesses.

He started slowly at Benfica as well, and I think at Almeria too. He got a lot of criticism in his first season at Benfica, so i'm not giving up on him....yet.

But yes he's not been great so far.

    He can do this

    Exactly what he said.

    Have faith

"They have conceded 14 goals in nine games across all competitions, keeping just two cleans sheets.

"When you spot a problem and think you have the solution, you expect [it] to be instant. That's never the case in football," Klopp said.

"We've conceded similar goals now, they have gone through the same gaps.

"When the timing in our defending isn't perfect we're too open. So yes, we have to be more compact.

"Defending is an art and it worked for us really well for a long time. But with it not working, you realise you have to go back to the basics.

"We can't always start anew. If we can help the boys with ways to defend differently, we have to do that."

    .......

We know the issue. We have to work on it.

He can 100% drop players, no matter who it is.

Klopp likes to bring in players slowly. He only got that one early start when he did because everyone else was injured.

It takes a few months to mould football players into people that won't head butt. Darwin wasn't quite ready yet.

Exactly. Nothing would make a bigger statement and make the little guys working harder than to place a big guy on the sidelines.

He should come on here for advice - there are so many solutions he's bound to find one he likes.

I thought I might give us all the opportunity to put Liverpool's rubbish start into context by sharing the **** we have in our personal lives.

It's my day off today and every Tuesday I get my shopping delivered. I've had a notification from Morrisons to say it's on its way and I'm missing my malt vinegar for my chutney recipe which I wanted to start today for Christmas, the tomato ketchup me fella likes, Sunday's pudding (lemon cheesecake) and the leek and spinach parcels he likes (we had to go semi-veg because of his colon probs last year).

This means I have to go to a supermarket after I've taken me mate's birthday present round. Annoying <laugh>

While his touch is to be polite a bit heavy he does give us a different threat from C as he does run in behind the CB's and should create space for those behind him by dragging them out of position .
Really hope he plays tonight and grabs a couple to help him calm down a bit .

Dropping players is pointless at the minute, we dont have anyone to replace them with.

The midfield is poor, but its still the best we've got. I really don't want to go over the same ****e again.

Similar with the forwards, we have Diaz and salah for the wide forward position and 3 who can play centrally, maybe nunez could be shifted wide perhaps, but jota and Bobby loose by far to much moved wide.

Defensively, we have no cover for right back, no cover for cb due to injuries. TSimi and robertson fir left back.

The under investment in the squad is coming home to roost.

This is the thing. He should offer a good threat from crosses out wide, and can run in behind so should occupy defenders and create some space. Not worried by him, he’s shown glimpses of ability in the limited games he’s played and needs time to adapt. Think it’s been made worse by our poor form, and unfortunately by comparisons to Haaland who has hit the ground running in a team that’s superior to others atm.
