Yeah we had a night and day in Durres which is a beach city near Tirana which was nice enough but the holiday area somewhere near Corfu is becoming quite popular. It’s dirt cheap if you can get a reasonable flight and basically a poor man’s Greece. I wouldn’t bother with Tirana but if you just want cheap Sun then it’s fine. 36C the day we landed.
Spain, for a change. Over to Bilbao next Sunday, down then to near Barcelona on the med coast, via Zaragoza for an overnight. Back then to Santander and home. Staying at a place in the Rioja region on the way back called Haro. Looks a proper old school town. Am looking forward to the food and wine there as much as anything!
Was thinking about Bilbao for the first day of the season but they’ve got Madrid so might be difficult. Never been to any of them but Salamanca was great. Is Zaragoza not underwater at the moment?
I don’t know, not heard that? It's inland by a stretch, about two/2.5 hours to then get to where we are staying. Literally an overnight though; park up, have something to eat, chill then bed, then back on the road next day. Won't be going into town or anything.
Crete for 10 days in August. Will no doubt attempt to scale a Volcano on a rented shopper bike or sumnt
