Agree. We need to keep refreshing. We've done that with the defence in Konaté and possibly Ramsey (if he is to be a real understudy for Trent like Tsimi is for Robbo). Addressed the issue of Mané leaving and Bobby slowing down (or is he speeding back up?) with Nunez and Diaz. The midfield while on paper looks good with 8 players in there, in reality needed at least one more in the last window and by next summer that will look more like needing two more. We are seeing the effects of the lack of investment and succession plan in that area
The midfield is a huge issue, many due to hangers on that we can't get rid of. I can only really think of Henderson, fabinho, thisgo and elliot as first choice, 3 if them are already cart horse slow and getting slower. Then naby and ox who are basically pointless. Milner, who is the cheap option utility player that's used much more than he should be. Have I missed anybody? The midfield needs massive investment to make it competitive for now and the future
Jones, who's proving to be either unreliable or injury prone but I do think he has potential if he plays enough. Carvalho? Neither are quite ready as first choice.
Sorry yes jones. I've said it before, he's never making it here. I'd be happy to be proven wrong but I really can't see it. I really like the look of Carvalho, if he was playing in a team playing well he'd be fine, but its hard to introduce him while we are struggling to find our way.
Carvalho is much more an attacker than midfielder though if we play with a CAM / false 9 he can play that pretty well .
Tbf arsenal only played 1 ‘big team’ and lost to United. They had the easiest start of the season and admittedly did wel to win away to palace and Brentford, but a team challenging for top 4 you’d expect to win those games.
They're is only one team in the title chase. Well, you could actually argue it's one man... Haaland City!

Has to be better at Management than Gerrard. Spiritual successor to Klopp? / Joking. / Klopp's going to live and manage Liverpool forever.
I must be the only one not massively impressed. He's scored alot, but city did that anyway. I still think debruyne is the main danger for city, I reckon I could slot a few home if I stood in the area and had him feeding me the ball. City will batter most like they have done for the past few seasons, the difference will be in the crunch games, will he make the difference?
