Elder played well again. Christie and Sinik could be improving us. Defence clean sheet though Wigan didn't test us that much. Pelkas some good crosses, some not. Some good link up, sometimes lost it. Hope he can improve even more. Good to see him score.
After losing five on the spin, took some guts to win that one. Well done all! Elder was superb all night.
Try Google maps. It's just a fact. Not that it should make a difference. Ask your guffawing Australian friend.
Was going to post similar. Agree with a lot of the positive comments (much better team effort, more balanced set up, more pressing, more positive, etc) but tbh Wigan were really not that good - yeah, partly coz we didn't let them but partly coz they just weren't that good. No idea how they've managed such a good away record before tonight. Not meaning to detract from a decent, welcomed win for us but just saying as I saw it. Well done Daws
Not that good but they came here with the best away record in the championship and playing for top 6. We can't have it both ways. We can't be ****e when we lose and ****e when we win. We won as many individual battles as we lost. Had 2 moments of quality in front of goal to their 1. That wasn't happening in the last 6 games.
Sometimes it's as simple as us not letting them look good,we've made some teams look like Real Madrid recently by not getting in about them, tonight we had a bit about us and we disrupted their game.
Payton had a belter, and I think askew gave it a go but 10 mins in Askews was wrecked however much he got it permed straight. Personally, I miss Russ Wilcox.
Nobody's asking for it "both ways" or saying "****e"!!! We were much improved tonight and that no doubt made it harder for Wigan Just saying they didn't look anything like their away record suggested. I suspect they've overachieved to date, had the rub of the green perhaps. I wouldn't expect them to be anywhere near challenging as the season goes on.
All I'm saying is you were very different in the 1988 team photo to what we saw on a regular saturday at Boothferry. You did look better under lights tho.
