Last time I saw you was in the Roberts testimonial. It was definitely heading that way. A young Tottenham lad called Barmby caused quite a stir. His head was fuller, but I think Dennis booth still had him in the moustache department.
Wigan were hideous to watch. Archetypal league 1 hoofball ****e. Glad we did em. Things looking a bit brighter. Massive win. Won't read too much into the next one given the location and the fact it's on Sky, but obviously would love it if we could build on tonight and lay a few ghosts to rest. Otherwise bring on the Brummies a week on Sunday.
Why are we playing Sundays and Wednesdays instead of Saturdays and Tuesdays like we're supposed to? I only get Saturday off, ****ing my schedule right up this is.
Never mind that, I have **** to do on a Sunday and our staff meetings are on a Wednesday, selfish bastards.
Neither the would I. But I also wouldn't expect we'll be kicking around 20th for long either. Just have a modicum of faith, yeah?
They were very agricultural, but they were good at it and seemed well-drilled. I'm not surprised that it's often effective for them.
I’d certainly disappeared by the time of the Hall of Fame parade for last game at Fer Ark. Suspect my physica being is buried under the new housing estate
Just back home, that drive is much better after a win! Decent enough performance tonight, tho we didn't create a great deal but all that matters is the points in the bag. Full backs really stood out for me as did tufan, esp the number of times he won the ball back. Estupinan is a cracking forward, hold up play superlative and Pelkas and sinik both growing into this team, a strong step in the right direction, need to follow it up next few games
Also....not a fan of booking Magennis, not our best ever player but lead the line in our L1 title win, never shirked it, never complained and represented the club well. Shouldve been clapped off for me.
He got warm applause pre-match and only really got stick after trying to scrap with Coyle. He was never going to get a good reception from then on. As a side note, I find it hard to see him in a particularly positive light as a former player. He was a key part of that title-winning team, but he led the line in so many piss-poor McCann performances too, my over-riding memory is all those games of hoofing it up to him and him not winning it. To be fair, Wigan seem to have found a more effective method of using him that way.
His, and eaves' prob with us was being played up top on their own, both better in a 2, tho both still limited at champ level as they're ok at winning flicks to a partner but can't do what Oscar does with the hold up play.
