He sold Mackail-Smith, who single handedly kept Peterborough up with the rest of L1 last season. He has now cashed in on him and replaced him, and his entire team, with no one!
Jean Bedel Bokassa's description summed him up in a nut-shell rather nicely For those that missed it:
I am just grateful that he got it wrong last night and gifted us another 3 points, always look on the bright side.
I'm sure I read somewhere, when he returned to Posh for this econd spell, that he wanted to do it without Daddy's help this time (he had something like four United players on loan when managing Preston). So I was certainly surprised to see Ryan Tunnicliffe starting for them yesterday, considering he's contracted to United.
When Chaplow scored, would have been amusing to see him run over to the dugouts and give Ferguson the middle finger (as Ferguson froze him out at Preston)
i bet secretly chappers was dying to do that, cant blame considering all the stick he took from ferguson jnr
Yeah jnr being the operative word What a great goal that was, I was right in line with his run, timed to perfection
But not gesturing towards the bench was better - sort of really rubbing in the fact that Chaplow is a better man than the young 'un. Incidentally, while Fergie Snr can be very annoying it cannot be argued that he is not a great manager. His son may aspire, but is hardly up to polishing the old man's shoes.
Considering that Peterborough are a small club, Ferguson has done exceptionally well. Although there was a massive difference in class, I don't think that Peterborough disgraced themselves last night, especially when they went down to ten men. I thought that Ferguson's tenure at PFC last season brought some high-scoring games and a propensity for unpredictable performances which ensured that the three promotion spots were never guaranteed until th end of the season. Not a fan of either Ferguson but it seems as if Jr has learned from the failure of his social skills at PNE to ensure that peterborough will remain a Championship team this season. I think you have to give credit where it is due.
I know I've written earlier in the thread about agreeing with someone else's opinion of him, but in truth, like I've said before, any club, and its individuals, other than Saints don't really register on my radar unless I try really hard. I'm not going to make an exception for Ferguson Jnr. So basically, I don't give a toss either way.
The man's a total Uriah Heep, shaking hands with the opposition manager after a defeat. Mouriño stuck his finger in one of Barça's coaches' eyes - that's what I call a proper in your face sportsman.
Don't know if you've seen the BBC Highlights: ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15564007.stm ) But as Frecklington goes flying in, Crosby jumps off of the bench and joins Adkins in the technical area, Ferguson points and shouts at him, Crosby turns around to walk off and clearly says something back as Ferguson goes to walk over to him and the 4th Official steps in the way. Good work Crozzer.
Always had a pretty strong dislike towards him, and I didn't even know about the wife beater thing until tonight! So he's gone down ever worse in my book!
I saw that footage several times...can't believe a grown man could be that childish. Could you imagine Saints' fans reaction if anyone laid a hand on our Nigel? The 4th official would be trying to hold back 20,000 people.
