Favourite city to visit, what's yours? We went to New York last year, liked it that much we are going to do it twice (back next spring). What a place. What's yours?

Personally I loved Berlin - absolutely wild time out, always on the look out to head back.

NYC was amazing but make sure you get a nice central area - not sure if I got scammed or not but I went on a solo trip to NYC few years back and stayed in a B&B on Maddison STREET, not Avenue - these are two VERYYYY different places on Manhattan.

Literally - in the most literal sense of the word - the other side of the road from a huge housing association complex (projects). Gun shots were fairly regular and sirens constant, especially at night - it was a weird experience but one I'm sure not many others would ever get. Use to sit up on the roof terrace (a fire emergency exit propped open with a fire bucket - lol) and have a smoke of the locals finest, while listening to the night time antics going on below. Additional benefits - Dunkin Doughnuts on the next block, Metro station 20 yards away, a liquor store below and a hospital about 3 mins walk away incase you copped a stray bullet.

One hell of a view though

In the UK definitely Bath. Relaxing and picturesque.

I was in Berlin in June and totally agree with you, its a tremendous place to visit. We spent a whole afternoon in Treptower Park down by the river Spree getting blitzed (not sure if that's the right word to use <laugh>

Went on our honeymoon to Washington and New York, two very different cities but loved them both.

In Washington we stayed opposite the National Geographic head-quarters (they had the terracotta army exhibition on at the time) and in the mornings it was a short walk (like 10 mins) past the side of the White House to the central lawns with the Monument and then just 10-20 iconic buildings all around you. We were there for a few days and spent a few hours in each one, I'd recommend it but wouldn't want to have been there for a week as we'd have run out of things. (the monument has a lift in it and we went to the top for great views).

NYC we were near Grand Central, had a great time doing the sites. Will go back with the kids when they're older.

Main regret is that we got a flight from Washington to NYC and it probably would have been more interesting to get the train up the coast.

For UK it would have to be Newcastle, mostly just because since i moved away 20 years ago I barely ever get to go back. So there's a lot of nostalgia in that. I went for a friends birthday around 10-12 years ago and the pub crawl we were going to do became a tad depressing when half the places we were going to re-visit had gone. Other than that I do like Liverpool for the waterfront, first time i came here and realised why they don't have as many bridges as there are in Newcastle...

    Bogotá.

Fantastic location, load of good day trips and great nightlife.

Worst hangovers though due to the altitude.

Were you in Valencia for long, Judge? We went there for a day, went to the Mestalla and did a bit of shopping. It was mega hot!

UK top 3 cities to visit for me are Edinburgh, York & Bristol. Not sure which I'd put top of the list.

Always been a fan of Budapest when abroad.

Reykjavík is a cool place as well although that's probably more for the surrounding area...

I agree, most of the tourist cities are ****holes and extortionate. Paris is a kip, Madrid makes Broadmoor look like Disneyland, Naples smells, they’d rob the eyeballs out of your head in Barcelona!!

Went with the missus to Krakow at Christmas a few years back, amazing place, great places to eat and drink(cheapish) was only an hour to Auschwitz by bus which was a harrowing experience
