That’s my feeling as well. I had this feeling our great run was going to come to an end as the players were starting to run themselves into the ground. Now the ones who were doing the real heavy lifting have a chance to charge up and fire again. Worried that Trippier may have a lot of play this next month but don’t think the rest of them at the World Cup will. So best if England win it and he comes back on a high that carries him through to the end of the season.
We are in the better half of the draw but no game outside of the group will be easy. If we got to the final it would likely be Brazil. Their squad looks unbelievable
We are in the hardest group though apparently. Only one with all 4 teams in World top 20. Makes a mockery of FIFA rankings as it should be one of easiest to qualify from.
This from a Daily Mail article on alcohol consumption in Qatar: Once the World Cup kicks off, the plan was for beer to be available in fan zones - but only after 6.30pm and on the understanding that drunk fans will be sent to special zones to sober up. I wonder if these zones will look like this? please log in to view this image https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...-alcohol-sales-World-Cup-stadiums-BANNED.html
Wow I just checked as could not believe Iran would be in the top 20 but sure enough, there they are at #20.
They are usually pretty gritty these sides is lacking in skill. If they sit in a low block it will make it hard for us. Need to go with an attacking formation and I think Maddison must play as need his creativity. I'd probably start TAA on the right of a 4 also. Save Tripps for the big games.
On the article... it was so predictable.... hook in the World Cup... promise to be open and let fans drink... then when they get there change the rules and charge £80 a pint in some of the bars. Saw it coming a mile off....
Netflix have a featured collection on The Beautiful Game to celebrate the start of the World Cup. It includes documentaries and the occasional comedy so am watching Sunderland til I die.
