The headline is always by design intended to lure the reader in. You have to read the article to get more understanding of it. In this case the article is (rarely) neither 'deceit by omission' nor 'deceit by structure' , so be thankful for that.
Strike day 12 and 13 tomorrow, sorry to say the action is getting weaker in some areas including mine, the cost of all the strikes is hitting home but a small band of us are staying strong , management are targeting us and I have been told by one that my name is top of the list for compulsory redundancy when the time comes As Billy Bragg once sang " If there's a blacklist I wanna be on it "
Completely agree with this. I think to take a factual headline showing that Christian belief is in decline and not making any reference to any other faith and then claiming it is misleading is just incorrect. The first sentence of the article repeated the headline, the second gave statistics on christian belief and the third highlighted atheism. You have to reach the fourth sentence to find mention of other religions and then it is not exactly a dramatic claim on muslims. Sometimes one can see bias where we expect it to be.
Hey, did you know that Lady Susan Hussey is 83? Because for some reason, the gammonati are really intent on letting you know that she is
The ONS need to have "drill down" statistics on this (among other things) so that the true nature of the changes (population rates, % changes between/within the large ERC groups etc) are clearly/simply stated. However, I am seeing that after the demographics sh*t storm the 2021 census has unleashed, the ONS are planning to drop certain ERC "dimensions" from the census (which in itself is statistical deceit) .
