Excellent video Robbie. Josh has really come of age this year and the World Cup will have lifted him to another level.

Hopefully he can return to Norwich, get oiver the ankle injury and then push on further.

Hopefully a sign of things to come as the club further develops its in-house production capabilities. The decision to do that obviously pre-dates Attanasio's joining the board, but this is one of the areas the club have been painfully slow to take up and some US-style drive to progress it wouldn't come amiss.
Also, this video may do something to suggest to those bemoaning the club's stepping back from its formerly cosy relationship with the EDP, that there might actually be a lot of positives to come out of it.

PS Apologies to anyone trying to access the linked article in the Fresno CA local paper. It seems to have vanished without trace.

I thought more might come from our relationship with Tampa Bay, but that seems to have faded from view. The Attanasios might enable new links to bring promising young MLS players over the way Josh developed his career. He's still only 22 and has the potential to develop into an excellent striker we can build a team around.

Though he didn't score in the World Cup his all round skills were showcased, especially to the US press. With 9 goals in 17 starts so far, he now has a potential platform to make an even bigger impact this season, reducing worries about Pukki being over 30. IMO, Josh's range of skills may offer more variety of potential goal chances than those of Teemu. Josh is good at heading, close and long range shooting and his development of those skills have the potential for many more goals to come. Playing next to Teemu in a diamond formation suits them both and provides more options for the rest of the players as well.

While most of the focus has been on the diamond as a way of resolving the Pukki/Sargent conundrum, I see it rather as addressing the greater issue of disconnect in transition which, as I've said several times previously, I think is caused by the reluctance of our CBs to hold a higher line. With the CBs staying deep, when we set up 4:3:3, either the midfield and front line are pulled deep too, or space develops between back line and midfield, and/or midfield and forward players, space which makes it harder to retain possession and work openings, and which opponents find easy to exploit when we lose the ball. The trouble is that the diamond has its own weaknesses, especially the spaces out wide behind the advanced FBs, which e.g. 'Boro, exploited to good effect.

We have been doing our warm weather training at Tampa Bays ground. I believe one of their goalkeepers was training with us - whether we can read anything into that as far as it being a trial potentially I don't know

Reluctance of the centre backs or instructions from the coach?

I agree that it is a part of the issue, but that’s a tactical decision made by the manager, not the players. So it’s crazy to describe it as “reluctance”. Especially when Gibson is reasonably swift and Hanley’s famously the third fastest player in our squad.
