They've reached 1 Champions League semi final in the past 7 years and have only won one trophy in the last 3 years. They are nowhere near as good as the team at Barcelona. They have big names but they are not a great team.

Because compared to Argentina Portugal's team are like a league 1 side. They have a few good players (Nani, Carvalho) and that's it, the rest are pretty average. Messi is surrounded by World Class players when he plays for Argentina yet he flops.

What a ridiculous argument, he's only been playing for them for two years. <doh>

Just because you spend a lot of money on players, that doesn't make them good. Just look at Luque!

I'm talking about the Real Madrid team as a whole not just Ronaldo.

So you are holding the fact Messi has had success with his team against him? Is that not what being the best is all about, bringing success to the team? Believe me I have watched Messi drag that Barca team out of some shock losses.

So the way to prove yourself as the best is to pick a bad team and play in it?

I've also seen Messi singlehandedly rip Real to shreds in games where Ronaldo was a total passenger.

In fact Ronaldo's record for an inferior Portugal side is better than Messi's for a superior Argentina side.

Lets not forget to mention how Ronaldo's goal record at Real is distorted by the shameless team effort last season to get him the golden boot.

So while Messi was consolidating the title by scoring and unselfishly assisting, Ronaldo was having goals made by his teammates given to him on a platter in an effort to desperately rescue some degree of dignity for Real by having the golden boot award instead of Barca

Bullshit, Paula Radcliffe would beat Ronaldo over a long distance, she's still a **** footballer though. <ok>

You are a total and utter ****wit and completely thick as ****.

The documentary showed that over a straight race, the SPANISH olympic hopeful beat him. He when you put stops and starts in (turns) Ronaldo was faster.

Anyone remeber Supermac on superstars, he was pretty quick over 100m

I suspect a number of proffesional footballers are almost as quick as olympic athletes, and if they trained specifically for those events they would be competetive.

Ronaldo is not faster then everyone, no proof of that whatsoever. To know this, you would have to have every professional footballer on the planet race him. Really though it doesn't matter, I wasn't putting the video up to prove a point, but just for a laugh. Boring Saturday nights in :(

I'm pretty certain Bolt could destroy Cronaldo in a race as well(wouldn't even be close).

Actually Javier Hernandez must be faster than Ronaldo seeing as he was named the fastest player at the last World Cup.

Franz Carr was quick, unfortunately thats all he was

  20. Well yeah i supposed i can't back it up with evidence, but that video shouldn't decide who is faster between those two players. Sprint speed can only really be judged on a larger distance. Short distance races are decided by acceleration mostly.

E.G. Messi is faster off the mark than Ronaldo is, but over a long distance, Ronaldo would beat him.
