Inevitable, I suppose, but sad to see that Newbury on Wednesday has been abandoned. Looked a, potentially, highly informative card.

I doubt there will be any turf racing this week - Ascot already looking very bleak. Hopefully milder weather on the way for Christmas

BTW today’s lunch was leftover Corned Beef and Cabbage Lasagna from yesterday. Have to give myself 9/10 for this as the corned beef worked really well with the nutmeg in the béchamel sauce. The cabbage could have been crispier (so 1 point deduction) although, due to the cooking time, that might be an impossible ask.

I would say after that concoction you will be able to clear a room

Well done, Oddy, and good for a "Bubble & Squeak"-type second or third day too. Was unfamiliar with Béchamel Sauce, but it seems no need to make it yourself as the ready-made sauce from Thomy Les Sauces Béchamel is, apparently, quite acceptable.
    Again, Mahlzeit! <ok>

Sorry Swanny I am a perfectionist when it comes to cooking, always make Béchamel myself. Quick and easy <ok>

Missus agrees with you 100%, she too would make it herself. I sense that she does not think much of Thomy at all. I depart with an even redder face than usual!

Trendsetter. Sounds fine to me anyway.

Just saw the result of the 1st at wonderful Wolverhampton and old Boy Duke Of Firenze is still being bandied about. Will they ever let these horses just retire, he's around a long time (from a racing point of view) and looking at his form, you can tell he's just not up to much anymore, used to be a fan of the horse in his heyday, connections keep persisting so hopefully he gets out in one piece and can enjoy some of his life frolicking around a nice green field somewhere.
