PRIDE ROCK could be interesting in the last at Ffos Las. Three runs over two miles to get it a handicap mark and now on handicap debut steps up to three miles. From a yard not averse to pulling such a stunt.

Still a great ride to get 2nd. For a second there, I thought Mr Harp had fluffed the last, but he recovered well.

Usually swerve a 'first time in a handicap' runner, but I had to smile at your comment 'From a yard not averse to pulling such a stunt.' So, I had a small e/w punt. They certainly tried with the horse, and it ran well to finish second, so I was happy with the e/w. Many thanks, Stick. <ok>

Am a bit surprised there haven't been any comments, on the thread, re Scarpered today!!! Cor blimey. Full scale nudge-nudge and all that as the Lieutenant's charge took another step, this afternoon, towards securing a handicap mark. Did anyone notice, incidentally, that the Lieutenant's representative was called in by the Stewards prior to the race. I say prior to it not after it. They wanted an explaination (which was noted) as to why Scarpered was running.

Meanwhile, I've had a look at the next Pertemps Qualifier (Huntingdon, Friday) and can't say I'm that impressed. But am I missing something, re this heat, people?!?

And finally. By my reckoning Mahler has got just 1, I say just 1, offspring engaged at Cheltenham, on Saturday, at the 5 day entry stage!!!
