The Swansea manager made it quite clear, without actually saying the words, that the decision to recall was nothing to do with him. In fact, he clearly thought Whittaker was better staying where he was and that he'd come back a better player given the experience he was getting, on and off the field down here. Can you imagine Schuey being put in a position in which he had to say that about Argyle's owners?

I think Everton is a bit of a nightmare rather than a dream at the moment................

It seems that Argyle are still interested in Cambridge forward....Harvey Knibbs 23 yrs old.

Had one offer for him turned down....but we are still interested in him......this is an area that we have good cover for.....surprising that we are still chasing him.....Schumacher must see him as a player that would fit well with our style of play.

Been looking at the Swansea not606 website.........they've got some very angry fans over there.

They're really anti.....Michael Obafemi and Jamie Paterson and want them out the club.

BUT also they've added Morgan Whittaker to that list....because of his refusal to play Saturday.

What a mess Whittaker has gone back to.....he'll be desperate to get away this January window anywhere but Swansea.

It seems that we are interested in bringing 20yr old Scot Connor McAvoy a Fulham youngster to the club.....also interested in him are Aberdeen and Hearts.

Surprised you didn't mention this plymborn. Gillesphey has signed a new contract. Quite pleased with that.

Macaulay Gillesphey becomes the third player this season to extend his contract.

The other two are Joe Edwards and reserve keeper Callum Burton.

Which means I assume that Steven Schumacher is happy to have them all in his squad whichever division we're playing in next season.

Who will be next to accept a further contract.

I didn’t rate Gillesphy initially: looked a bit uncertain at first but he’s grown into it. Defends pretty well and distribution is best of those back there. Very pleased for him and us.

Replays for Ipswich and Sheff Wed so as good as we could have hoped for. Joey Barton gets owned by Derek Adams and the two other Devon clubs win. Did I mention Pompey lost? Not a bad day all around then.

Bloody hell, if that’s too long, how do you ever read a book?

Reading stimulates the mind and I find helps the aged sleep far more effectively than a dozen pills! I’ve just bought my daughter “For Whom The Bell Tolls”. That should keep her quiet for a bit.

Just read it.........all. Not a lot there you could argue with to be fair. I would always ask the question of any club that gets promoted to the next tier. Are any of them "ready". Probably a small few but generally it's suck it and see teritory. I'd say we are as ready to give it a go as we will ever be.

Well, despite all the "Argyle are interested in............." guff that has been floating about and speculation about Morgan coming back or going to this one or that one, nothing has happened and the window is closed. At least nobody else is going. Pity about Whittaker and I do think Swansea have shot themselves in the head let alone foot on this one. Why would you take a player who is increasing his worth and instead on continuing that just feck up his whole season and state of mind. It makes no sense at all for any of the parties involved. Oh well, can sleep easy nonetheless.

That’s what you get when owners interfere with day to day football matters isn’t it?

The latest scam is to sign players for ludicrous sums of money over excessively long contracts. Chelsea have just signed a player (Fernandez) from Benfica for a mere £107m on a modest 8 and a half year contract. They can amortise the fee over 8 and a half years and so stay within the financial fair play rules. He’s 22.

This is happening across the elite clubs and is a nonsense. Firstly, the reality is no player is likely to maintain top form over that timescale. Secondly, what gets clubs in trouble is cash flow, not profits after amortisation, and it’s cash flow the rules should be controlling. It’s like saying “a Rolls Royce will last for 20 years so it makes sense to buy one”. Not if you haven’t got the £300k it doesn’t.

Argyle have suddenly got a Keeper problem.

Michael Cooper had to be subbed on Saturday because of a knee problem....and will be scanned today to see how bad it is.

ALSO....Adam Parkes has returned to Home Park from his loan at Parkway with a Shoulder Problem that he picked up during their mid-week match.

This means we're down to Callum Burton being the only pro keeper available for Saturdays Portsmouth match...with 2nd year student Zac Baker possibly on the bench.

And although there is a provision to bring in goalkeepers outside the transfer windows, I read it only applies if ALL your professional keepers are unavailable. Just when things were going so well....

So we're one bad foul away from a 2nd year student having to play in goal against Portsmouth......you couldn't make it up.
