So, why didn’t you put both selections on the betslip in the first instance and input the single stakes and the double stakes. I know this works as I do it on Bet365 every day and it works perfectly well. In computer speak PEBKAC.

I am guessing that you are using a Bet365 app, whereas I am on my laptop logging into the Bet365 website. There is no “bet slip”, you make your first selection with the stake and then go and edit the bet to add further selections.

The problem is that the way their system works, it cashes out the bet when you add a new selection and creates a new bet. This will make no difference if you are betting on ordinary NRNB afternoon racing but with ante post bets, the cash out value of the bet is less than what was originally staked. So having selected the first horse and put £5 each way on, the cash out value of the bet was £9.50 so when I added the second selection to make the double it reduced to a £4.75 each way double.

I looked in the online help about placing multiple bets and it is illustrated with a “bet slip” with several football matches selected. There is no such facility that I can find on the website – soon as you click on the price of any event, up pops a window containing the selection requesting you to enter your stake with a “place bet” button.

I rarely do multiple bets but my mate is a bit miffed that he has lost £1 on two ante post each way doubles for Cheltenham simply from me putting the bets on.

Watching the BBC News Channel a few minutes ago and noticed that the guest speaker, the head teacher of Harrogate Grammar School, had a black eye (the left one). Wonder how the heck he got that? :emoticon-0112-wonde

His mate asked him to put a double on and he told him he had wasted some of his stake.

What the **** are you talking about. Of course you can place more than one bet at a time using the website. It's definitely not a system failure it's user error there. I'm afraid you owe your mate a quid and an apology for asking a retard to place his bets.

The media don’t half talk things up. This radioactive capsule that went missing in West Australia and has been obsessing the BBC the last couple of days. My first thoughts were „nobody lives there anyway“ and „just get a Geiger counter to find it“. Hey presto job done. Jeez.

You might be able to do it on a phone app, but certainly wouldn't be able to do it on a website. Isn't that right QM?

Tom Jones: Delilah banned for choirs at Principality Stadium

So the leaders of the Welsh Rugby Union have asked that they no longer sing Delilah at any of the National rugby Internationals as it depicts domestic violence in the lyrics...!!

I bet if you were to ask the people who sing this song to say what the song is about they wouldnt bloomin know, but would say its a great song to sing along to with my mates...

Tom Jones was not available for comment...

No pizza or food adverts – I was expecting at least MacDonald’s...

There were adverts for a couple of cars, Jet2 holidays, Sky Vegas gambling, William Hill Vegas gambling and ITV X (I thought I would escape that ubiquitous advert at the cinema – I channel hop in ad breaks on TV at home to avoid it).

Clearly you did not read what I originally wrote. I placed two singles and a double; however, to do the double required one to place a single then edit the single bet and add the second selection to form the double. The problem is that to form the double, the system cashes out the first selection and on ante post bets the cash out value is less than the original stake, so money is lost.

When I complained to Bet365, they simply replied that that is how it works. They offered no suggestion how to do a double by another method. I cannot find any facility on their website on my laptop that allows more than one selection to be made and then the stake applied. You can do Bet Builders on football but that facility does not appear to exist for horseracing.

Bet365 would probably prefer me to close the account and go somewhere else since I made over 50 per cent profit to stakes last year so they do not want retards like me.

Are you saying they can't cope with any multiple bets, only singles? That can't be right. At the very least it ought to be able to ask you to enter your unit stake and type of bet (eg £2 Yankee and tell you that's 11 bets, stake £22 please confirm) then ask you to select 4 horses or whatever. For the singles on any of the selections, either have separate bets or have a box to tick for additional single bets plus stake and win/ew, giving the option to have different stakes for the single bets Personally I prefer the former for simplicity. To enter the selections first, isn't what I would want but, if necessary I would expect to select all the horses I want bet on, against each selection enter the single stake (if any) and select win/ew, then if multiple bets required select the horses for the multiple bet and be given the choice of bet types depending on the number selected. Repeat for each multiple bet. Seems to be over complicating what is a very simple process. Just my tuppence worth

The problem here is really only specific to ante post bets. I am sure it is possible to put on a Yankee by selecting your first horse with the stake and then adding three more horses and selecting Yankee as the bet type. I am not sure how that would work as there are no singles in a Yankee. I do not do that sort of bet so I do not care as I normally just do singles. If you are doing a bet on today’s racing then as you add each new selection it can cash out the bet to create the new one with no loss; however, ante post bets have a cash out value of less than what was staked to stop people simply cancelling ante post bets with no penalty.

The cynic in me thinks that Bet365 simply do not want people to use the website but want everyone to use a mobile App so that they can bombard gambling addicts with bet offers to keep generating turnover. As it is they keep sending me emails offering me football bets that I have no interest in – when I login, the same offers pop up and I click the “not interested” button and they still keep sending me crap all because I had a couple of bets during the World Cup.

A week after I complained to Bet365 for the second week on the trot, I got a reply (obviously it had been escalated away from ‘Ranjiv’ in the India office as ‘Lauren W’ replied):
“There are various reasons why a Cash Out value will be lower than your stake. It is best, when this happens, to contact us via Live Chat as we can then let you know why the Cash Out is the lower amount, and then we can see if we can void the bet for you if you are intending to change it/place the selections on something else.
Please note, there is no guarantee that we are able to void a bet upon your request, but it never hurts to query this and we are always happy to see if we can help.”

So standard corporate b*ll*cks totally ignoring what I originally asked them: Why can I not make my selections first and then select the bet type and stake? I only opened the account with Bet365 because they price matched William Hill, Ladbrokes and Coral as I was fed up of going in their offices and being told that the Oddschecker prices were not available in the office but only online. If it were not for my mate’s seven ante post bets (6 Cheltenham, 1 Greyhound Derby), I would draw out the balance and close the account. Ultimately Bet365 will be getting kicked into touch...

Jockey Club scrap ‘outdated’ dress code for racegoers

I find myself agreeing with Nick Boyd, a former director at Lingfield, here. Deceased former members of the Jockey Club will be spinning in their boxes at the organisation going Woke.

Racing seems to be stuck in a headlong drive towards oblivion, ignoring its core older market (a sector that is growing) to chase a declining youth market that has little disposable income to fritter on horseracing. If the Jockey Club is a “forward-thinking organisation”, it seems to be unaware that ahead is a cliff and only it will be going off it, not lemmings. How long until Wayne and Waynetta Slob are seen in a box on Derby day with a pizza and a fag?
