Can't argue with any of that. I remember Barnsley away where I had to leave early cos I just couldn't take anymore passing between the defence and keeper. It's ****ing boring, lacks any ideas, lacks any positivity and is crap. Fast forwards 2 seasons and we are still doing the same ****ing thing. If we are going to lose 3-0 to Hull then let's do it with our own players, is our youth set up that **** that we have to rely on other teams players to perform ****. We can blame managers all we want but the common theme here is the players. Some just don't care and some just aren't good enough.
That is a hard read for any QPR fan....**** knows what's happening around the club, but someone needs to get a set of balls and start dragging these players out of their pathetic mindset and get them going again. The whole thing stinks...I'd love to see us bin off all the loanees and just go for it with our youth players, it surely can't be any worse
I agree Bob, It's a really depressing read but hits the nail on the head. I'm with you, and have decided not to attend any more games this season. I've only been going recently to see my mates, not for the football.
It's a sad state of affairs mate but I just can't bring myself to pay hard earned money to watch the same old ****. We might get one decent performance every now and then but the feeling of just being happy for mid table obscurity, without any sign of progress is becoming rather tedious.
It's horrible reading that isn't it? We're really in a **** state. Time to play youngsters who actually give a ****. Oh.... And thanks Beale, you absolute ****!
Beale is a **** but can I blame him for what's happening/happened to our club? I struggle with that to be honest. I look at the squad and scratch my head. Shodipo is probably the best example to use. 25 years old, never made it in our 1st team under numerous managers yet we still keep him??? Do the staff think he's suddenly going to get better at this age or when he's nearing 30?! The loan players, who came to play for Beale can all **** off to be honest. Laird has been the only positive one and even he's started to look disinterested. The Richards deal is a real head scratcher! Who the **** is in charge of this mess! We rave about Willock and Chair (sporadically) yet one is a lazy bastard off the ball and the other passes when the opposition are back in shape.
Dykes has pneumonia, he could be out for weeks, or sadly for months. Today or tomorrow, we need a bring in a striker who is good in the air and hopefully scores a few, to play up front with, or for now at least, without Dykes. None of our other strikers who have played for us this season are any good un the air.
Maybe someone should have put a higher price on Beale to protect our investment. £1m is like something out of Austin Powers.
To be fair, at the time, he looked like a gamble. So you can see £1m being a nominal insurance. Turned out he was reasonable as a coach/manager. As a person a two-faced **** and a snake. Say one thing and do another. Won’t be forgotten by many. Our recruitment process has been dire for years. I think the video they put up, bigging themselves up, rankled many a fan on here and led to a lot of call-outs on what they have actually achieved. Where we are now has been poor direction over years and years. As Bob highlighted with Shodipo, who is calling out this crazy sh1t?? Someone has to be held accountable. Hard for it to be the manager, as he keeps changing every year or two.
That was my point concerning Beale. I realise it's ultimately down to the players not being interested because they came to play for him, but I ****ing blame him too for being a lying, treacherous ****.
We were also very poor those few League games we played after Beale turned down Wolves and f***** off to Glasgow. Its months since he went too now, so no reason the players he brought in should give him a thought.
So what the **** is wrong with them then? Explain their collective lack of fight or even vague interest.
You are correct Col, Beales treacherous behaviour will have affected certain players. You buy into a coaches philosophy, his style of play, his ideas. He then goes and you have to try do it again with a different guy, with different ideas. Loanees will always have a different mindset and it doesn't help when half your team is made up of them. I presume Clarke salter and especially Balugun joined because of Beale. The loanees were most likely persuaded by Beale also. Some of our owned players just aren't good enough for anything but low to mid table championship football. Theres certainly not one single player who could hack it in the Premier league that's for sure. Our youth set up seems to me, pretty poor. We are even loaning players out to non league teams which doesn't really bode well for our future in this division. We persevere with the likes of Shodipo but what's the end game with him, when will he be able to cut the mustard? Bettache, eventually moved on! Didn't someone think he wasn't going to make the grade by now? Duke McKenna, always lively and energetic loaned out so the evergreen Adomah can prolong his career. We aren't developing our own players and the one lad, despite many reservations from some, plays one game and then is dropped for 3. Make no mistake, when your team lacks passion and desire, even effort, you need a catalyst to inspire that from others. Armstrong would be the first name on my team sheet for that reason alone. I always say to the lads (at every level) that I work with, if you're having a poor game, you're passing is off kilt then the only way to make up for it is to improve your work rate, fight for every ball, don't stop moving, chase down, run your socks off and come off the pitch knowing you have given it everything.
Critchley came out with the "people have to change" speech after the game and I cannot see a squad of professional footballers being at all happy with that. My thoughts pre match on Saturday were that he had picked the wrong team. After the midweek B team game I was certain that Johansen would start. As Dykes was in hospital I was really hopeful that Armstrong would start. I also hoped that Taylor Richards would get a run out as he had a great game in midweek. How he is not starting is absolutely crazy looking at what is ahead of him in the pecking order. Critchley picked the wrong team and that's not hindsight yet he accepts absolutely none of the blame.
In general I thought they just had a bad game at Hull. In previous League games this month the performances have been pretty good but the finishing mostly poor. Saturday it looked very clear to me that they missed Dykes and there was a lack of press and movement from the forward players when without the ball. Defensively we didn't have much to do, but managed to let in 3 goals from not that many Hull attacking moves after they got their first. It's not so easy to see lack of effort on a stream but many who were there singled out Roberts and Tim. Roberts looked rarely involved but when he was on the ball he was usually good. Tim's passing was off from the start and it didn't get much better the one half he got.
Richards wasn't in the squad because he lost a close friend after that friendly in the week, and was given time off.
I thought we did well and were first to everything. First goal for Connolly , first home win for Rosenoir, first home win in 4 months. First clean sheet for Ingram in his life. Must be the worst keeper ever at rangers.
