Not my strong point but I can't help but be saddened not only by our current plight but also the stance many fans are adopting. Protests, throwing season tickets on the pitch even running not the pitch.Against millwall, really? For many of us sad'os, of 50 years + supporting the R 's trust me we have had things far far worse than now. I can't help thinking being top of the league has gone to many a fan's head. FFS, if you go to watch us purely to see us win then that's laughable and may I suggest you support another team . The term 'support' does not mean the minute we start losing we have to throw toys out and start protesting. How stupid would we all look if we win the next 3 games, unlikely though it is? We, me included, are asking the players quite rightly to grow a pair. My feeling is we need to do the same Our club is unique often in the wrong way but for e.g. When a relative dies these sites are amazing and prove what a close knit family we all are. Please keep the faith or *=** off to Stamford bridge as too many are behaving like their knuckle scrapers. Maybe it's social media that's the problem and it's too easy to hide behind a keyboard. One thing we can't do as fans now is hide. You R's.
WTF ?? Why does anyone go to watch their team? Oh I'm definitely going to pay £30 a ticket plus another 30 in fuel , food, drinks etc to watch us play with absolutely no passion, desire etc to lose 3- 0 to Hull. I couldn't think of a better way to spend my Saturday. I, personally, only ask for a tiny bit of entertainment as that's the least I should expect for my hard earned money. What I saw on Saturday was nothing short of pathetic. I don't just want better, I expect better from a team of professionals, earning thousands. I would love a reason to spend the same next week against Huddersfield, maybe 4-0 this time.
Yes, we're not passing the buckets around but it's so hard to watch atm. It's like watching a very dear friend dying. You are right about the support though. The clue is on the meaning of that word!
Huge respect to away fans. I don't go that often but did go to the Coventry debacle. Enjoyed the company of a friend but we could have done that more cost effectively by staying in Ealing!
QPR are my team, I have a very good friend who supports Scunthorpe now national league and struggling there but renewed his season ticket and look like they are going down again but will still be there. A proper football supporter. We have joked that you can change your wife but not your team. I am now divorced. I remember when we looked liked they were going out of business, so what would I do. I live near Arsenal so that was considered for half a second, wobbled my head, problem sorted. I enjoyed our time in leagues one, new grounds, mostly being the big team. I do not like going at the moment, it’s not fun, but I’ll be back eventually. I’m not sure yet we will stay up, whether Crichley is the right manager, whether the board is What we need, but next year I will support QPR. We are a small group but loyal group, I think that is one thing I am most pleased about. People ask, “what’s your team?” Your answer is never scoffed because proper football fans know you are a proper football fan.
I've been to more away games than I care to remember and all I've ever asked is that my team show some effort and some passion, that game at the weekend was diabolical regardless of the result. I saw none of the 2 things I mentioned apart from young Sinclair when he came on. I'll always keep the faith, but when your players obviously have lost all of theirs , where does that leave the fans ? Those that fork out their hard earned to travel up and down the country to support players who are on thousands of pounds a week to do something we'd all give our right bollock to do , deserve better than what was served up on Saturday. If it was a one off then I could live with that, but the last 13 games have been atrocious really. Sure you can say Beale leaving destabilised the club, but the players are professionals and owe it to the fans to at least show some fight. I've had it with Les and the owners who clearly don't know what they are doing anymore, there are no aspirations from them anymore than to hopefully avoid relegation out of this league. In short I'll always support my team, whether they deserve that support is a different matter !
The problem is, you're asking fans to "keep the faith", whilst the players demonstrably aren't! Of course we'll all continue to follow Rangers. My problem is that the club seem to lack any ambition and the players don't look as though they give a ****. And yes, I'm not content to just take part. I want my team to be at the highest possible level and while they're not, I want them to aspire to be at that level. Otherwise, what's the point?
I have followed my (our) team for almost 50 years. Still remember those early days with great fondness but especially with pride. Worn my colours. Had the scarf jammed in the back window and trailing in the breeze driving to away games. Seen the bad days too which this club seems to enjoy sharing like some psychotic shaman and its followers (fans to the wider world). No fancy follower of the elite teams or champions winning everything, I chose my club, or they chose me, there is no going back after that. Even when living/working in a far away distant land I still followed my team (as many do here) with fanatical desire to see them do well. But with this club’s baggage comes frustration too. Seeing our best players taken away. Crazy (embarassing) losses. Bloody awful performances. Terrible choices. And the right, through all that, is to have my ‘wobble’. And by Christ I will have my wobble too. Damn well annoys me when **** happens to this club and ‘organisation’. And it’s happening right now. I feel a wobble heading my way coming like a freight train!!
We’re ****e.......never gonna be Champions League and always gonna be strugglers and seemingly lurch from problem to problem. But isn’t that part of the enjoyment of supporting our team ? So that on the very rare occasions we do something special it actually means something and we can live off the memories for years ? I still go on about beating Chelsea 6-0, watching my two heroes of the time, Bannister and Byrne score 5 and Leroy getting another. Personally I’d hate to be a Chelsea/Man U/Liverpool/Man City......full of hangers on and more of a business than a football club.
Which players aren't trying? Willock and Roberts are obvious examples I suppose, and Iroegbunam looks like he couldn't give a ****, but I don't see a lack of effort from the rest. I'd sell Willock, if anyone would have him, and send Tim and Roberts back to their clubs. All too late now though, it's 31st Jan.
Yes Col I want to see a team that really tries. I want them to play their best, even when they are not the absolute best ( such as Kakay). I fully understand the psychological effect on the players brain too. But a number of our performances in last week's have really fallen below an acceptable level. The board backed Beale in the summer...they feel let down, the players feel let down, we feel let down...everyone wants to start again in a new season. Somehow...we need to finish this season safely...it might be hard
You've answered your own question to an extent. All the loan players seem to have completely dropped off since Beale left. Most of the others seem to be going through the motions, while Chair now seems to think he's a superstar. We're playing **** football with little to no forward momentum and the board are scared ****less of spending 50p.
Kiwi, I am guessing you're a happy clapper more than I'll ever be and if you live in NZ then I am not surprised. Please don't mock someone who is trying to get over a few delicate but relevant points. Can you answer ANY these qtns in the affirmative....? Have you been to Newcastle away on a Tuesday night age 14? Have you been to Crewe away after an 8-0 1st leg win and have the train break down at Luton? Have you been to QPR on the same day your first child was born? Have you delayed going into hospital for a major operation so you can see QPR? Have you been in the away end at the Den with about 100 others, scared 5hitless watching a boring 0-0? Have you missed weddings because QPR were playing and used some other excuse? Did you bunk off school to watch QPR v Scum in the 1970's when there was a power strike? I would expect 100's of people on this board can answer yes to every one of these qtns. But you won't be one of them.
if you can't answer yes to at least one then *&* off to Stamford Bridge where you belong. Happy clappers indeed.
