At first glance, I thought the ball hit Patterson’s leg and it was lucky. It was a brilliant save to react like that and possibly his best of the season.
The best you can do, once you've decided which way you're going, is have the presence of mind to swing a leg out just in case and hope to get something on it if it goes down the middle. He did that, so well done to him.
In my humble opinion we have the best young keeper in the country. The lad can save penalties as well and seems unflappable. He's going to get better as well. The talk of £10 million is insulting.
Wow. Mental that Patto is getting better every week. Same could be said for a few players in this squad. There are exciting times ahead for SAFC
If anything, disappointed he gave away possession instead of setting Clarke up for a counter attack....
You see him look back after he’s dove and swings a well aimed boot at it I know a good few keepers would have missed kicked that,so it’s a big well done Patto from me
Another 2 or 3 seasons and he'll be challenging Pickford for a spot in the England team. Great advertisement for our academy
I think this does him a disservice, personally. He didn't just swing a leg and hope for the best, he had the presence of mind and quick thinking to look back and intentionally kick the ball. It was a really incredible save, imo.
Like others have said he made that save cause he watched the ball and aimed boot at it. He was out catching crosses and corners with real conviction last night aswell!
